Is it in any kind of shelter? If not the elements can get to it whether it is rain, sun, or a chilly evening. Try putting it in a covered basket or something that is open just enough for it to get fresh air and for the mother to get in to give it food and warmth. Hope this helps!

  2. It probably can’t fly yet, which is what caused the whole problem (trying, unsuccessfully, to fly). If the mother has found the bird, than it will probably be okay. You could try and get it off of the ground by putting some kind of a container resembling a nest in a tree and placing it in there. That would help protect it from the cat, and since the mother found it once, I’m sure she will again. In a few days it will hopefully be strong enough to fly short distances and be fine.

  3. a fledgling cant fly yet…. as long as the mom is looking after it …. and as long as the cats are not lurking around.. the baby will be fine. he should take flight in a day or so.
