I love this song, and it remains a favorite, the point of the song is to remind us to care for others less fortunate then we are, and you might want to remember that st. paul,s was the cathedral was where the late princess diana married prince charles

There is something sad and kinda lonely about it. I know what you mean. You’re right – there is something about it that pulls at your heart. I love it too.

When I was little, I used to dislike this song so much when I watched Mary Poppins that I used to ask to fastforward the tape. Now I listen to it again and I find myself listening to the lyrics and really liking it. It’s my favorite MP song now because the sad, lulling music makes me want to cry.. and I think that any music that can do that to you is infinitely valuable.

Me too, but for me its more about the memories from my childhood more than the meaning of the song, even though that is pretty beautiful too

I love this song and also Stay Awake. About 1965 or so Mother bought us the soundtrack on LP. I still have it. My brother, sister and I would sing along with it all the time. But, mother would never let us watch it.She didn’t llke musicals. She is gone now and I atchd it tonight for the very first time. Lovely. I thik it was one of the first movies that mixed live action with cartoons. Jane Darwell, the bird woman was also the role model and voicw for the fairy godmother in Sleeping Beauty
