We found a newborn dove on the street.. I think it fell from a tree or something happened to it.. We didn’t want to leave this bird, however, we don’t know how to feed it.. The problem is that it even didn’t open his eyes.. We’re trying to give water.. But, What can we give as a food? Please help.. If you don’t know and if you have a friend that can know.. please ask and let me know.. thanks..

ps: I think it also born before its normal birth time.. that’s why it is illogical trying to feed it with a worm etc..
use an eyedropper, feed it water, and try some small bird seeds on a bowl, it may also like a small worm. I would put it up in a branch where you found it and the mother will get it.
good luck and thank you for being kind to a bird!

I have handfed many birds but not doves. Here is a website that might help. You will need to prepare for this if you want to undertake it. IF you know anyone that has doves it might be a better alternative to see if one of the other mothers will adopt it. here is the website and goodluck!!

Well… First you have to eat a bunch of worms, then you stick your mouth over the baby birds mouth and regurgitate the worms for the baby bird. That’s how the mother bird would’ve done it anyway. You could also look up an animal rescue shelter, they may be better set up to handle the whole situation.

There is a special kind of food that you can get from your local vet’s office. Along with a newborn animal bottle.

Not every wild bird eats worms. To be honest there are a lot that only eat seed. If you attempt to try and feed it a worm you are going to have a hard time.
Doves are extremely difficult to feed, much harder them other songbirds. They do not gape for food, and you have to have the right tools to be able to go down the throat and into the crop. If you don’t know what you are doing you can cause serious injury to the bird.
My advice to you is, for now keep it warm. It is more important to warm it then it is to feed. The baby may actually have left over food in its crop anyway so don’t worry about the food part.
To warm, Make a nest using a glass bowl lined with a terrycloth rag or towel.
Get a small shoe box, put the homemade nest (with baby in it) in the shoe box. Place the lid on it.
Under half of the box place a heating pad, set on low.
