yea cause i have a parakeet myself and we give him sometimes fruit. keeping there bottoms clean is one way,and changing there food everyday i just lost mine cause she had no food. its ok to put them in together cause the my female before she died shared with the other parakeet

no you are not doing anything wrong. the average years for a parakeet to live is about 3 years. You are feeding them well and it sounds like you are keeping the cage in great condition. Make sure you add a mirror to the cage, it will keep the bird entertained and happy. Also, I would throw in tiny pieces of bread once in a while. Maybe even tiny pieces of fruit. Hope I was a help.

We give our keets scrambled egg, shredded lettuce, wheat grass from Petsmart, oats, and more for nutrition variety. Careful with the oats, they can get chubby from those.
