Be stern and say “NO!” everytime he does that. They do not like being spoken to in a mad voice. In time he will relieze what you want. Also blow in his face when you say it.

They use the beak and tongue to explore things. Is it biting hard or just nibbling with the beak? it might even be trying to groom you like it would another bird.

Well, around 4 or so months, a bird will molt….its when baby feathers fall out, and new ones come in. During this time, birds get very irritable…and tend to bite or chew…and they sometimes dont like to be touched. It will seem like forever that hes going through this, but he (or she) will get over it.

I had this problem with one of my parakeets, he would do the same thing when he would get on my finger. All you have to do is in a FIRM voice is say “NO!” and LIGHTLY tap his beak. It doesn’t take long until they know who’s boss, just don’t be real mean to him or it will make it even worse.

What ever you do dont hit him!!!!!! Just lightly tap him when he does this and say no. He also may be molting and might want to be left alone

nearing spring, they will start to molt. some molt slowly all year, we’ve had wierd weather… that effects it sometimes. Please understand that if you yell, they get excited and think to get the same reaction.. they do it again. Grit your teeth, maybe a very slight tap with a NO BITE, but not yelling. then immediately put it back in cage ( if it usually likes to be out) it will learn to relate the two. If it doesnt usually like to be out, it may be doing this to get put down. In which case youll have to work on some behaviour modifying. I dont think it has anything to do with food, and youll want to break that habit and turn it into a better habit anyway. Check out this link, I think you will find some answers that work and explain. Take care and give the little guy time and do some reading and try some options please!

Sounds like your bird REALLY likes the millet and is trying to coerce you into giving up the treats. Birds are amazingly smart sometimes.
You may want to try switching things around a little. Put the millet spray in his cage, and switch to a less desirable treat for when you’re holding him. Don’t keep treats Just for being outside of the cage, or he’ll demand them every time he’s out. Make sure he gets treats regularly, in the cage and out (though not to the point that he ignores his regular food, of course).
He’s a smart bird, and you should appreciate that. But, you have to train him, not the other way round.
