Preventing a Green-cheek from being a “one-person” bird?

another suggestion is just keep slowly introducing skeeter to you bf. the treat thing is a good start and you’ll just have to keep working with them. another thing is if once in a while your bf can do a little cage cleaning or feeding regular seed to show that your bf wants to be a part of skeeter’s flock.
Also when skeeter bites no hitting or yelling or pulling back. this shows that skeeter is the boss and a relationship will be at a loss. when skeeter goes to bite tell your bf to say “not nice skeeter” or “be a good boy” eventually skeeter will pick up on this and stop the biting. if possible when skeeter goes to bite have your bf lightly grab skeeter’s beak and give it a kiss. any sort of redirection will help greatly.
had the same problem with my Grey and my bf. there slowly getting along with each other now.

Yes what you have done is good. Green cheeks are pretty good about not being one person birds but just about all companion birds prefer one gender over the other.
My green cheek likes women best but is fine with me and very affectionate. There shouldn’t be a problem
had the same problem with my Grey and my bf. there slowly getting along with each other now.

The good thing is that the bird is a baby. Birds do have the ability to attach themselves to one person and not really care about another person until the mood strikes them. A good exercise is for your BF to be the one to take Skeeter out or off the cage and bring him/her to you. He will get use to the fact that your BF’s presence will get him what he really wants. Never laugh and overreact if Skeeter bites your BF. That will only cause excitement and cause Skeeter to bite for fun and excitement. When you are holding Skeeter, take him over to your BF and ask Skeeter to give him a kiss, or say hello, just small tokens of PDA and attention. This all will help create a relationship between the two of them that is comfortable.

Yes, it means he is happy and he like the company.
Just keep on giving him love and affection, his favorite treats and you’ll do fine.
BUT… just make sure you dont spoil him too much.
***REMEMBER: he is like a baby eventhough its a bird you must set limits and know what enough is enough.
