A friend of mine found a baby bird that had fallen from its nest. Brown feathers with yellow markings near beak.
Thanks for the information, but the bird just passed away.

Well, one thing not to feed it is rice…..You could chew up some worms….You should know what to do after that…

It depends on the age of a bird. It may be young enough still that it needs to be hand fed – you can get the formula and mix per the directions but I would suggest first that you contact your local animal control or animal/wildlife rescue to see if anyone can take the bird in for you. If you leave it alone, mom might get it. You could also try putting the bird back in the nest but I advise you wear latex gloves for sanity and to avoid getting your scent on the baby because it can turn the mom off on occasion. Best of luck!

Hello..best thing to do ( when it’s safe ) is to put them back in the nest…contrary to the old wives tail – birds do not smell, so you can just put them back in the nest ( when it’s safe & the nest is not too high, etc ) taking on the roll of the parents for baby birds is rarely successful ..except when the babies are older, somewhat feathered… just learning to fly, who can take the food you hand them…which would be bugs, worms, alive or ground up from a dropper or spoon, don’t think you want to throw up for the birds as their parents would , LOL !! Take Care

First u should try to find out what type it is maybe by searching it up on internet for pictures.. If u cant find out try feeding it bread with some hotish water and mix the little pieces of bread with the water then get a spoon and try to put some bread in it in its mouth..if u cant then try your finger!!
