So I found a baby mourning dove that is about 3-5Wks of age. Some children where messing with it and i saved it. Good thing it was not severely hurt, just maybe minor bruises but all is fine^^ Uhm..i wasn’t sure where the baby bird came from, I did search for its nest but did not find it so i took it home with me. i bought some Exact baby bird food and a small syringe to feed it, and placed it in a box covered to warm it up, and calm it down from the shock.
One thing i need to understand is how much of the Exact baby bird food do i need to feed it and every how many hours???
heres a pick on how it looks exactly like!!

btw..how many weeks would u say on this pick?!
Its not aggressive at me..i would probably say that its a little scared and a bit hesitant toward me..so urhm..yah.Also.. do i offer it any bird food or what should i start off with?
At that age, it will not be eating regurgitated food. Try throwing seeds infront of it. Tap them. How does it act toward you? Scared, mad, happy?

you should probably fill a little container with the food. there are these containers that have holes all around the edge and they are short. we use them for our chicks (chickens as babies). i would fill the container once a day, or twice if you need to and just watch it to make sure it gets enough food but not too much. you can buy the containers at feed stores and maybe pet and other stores. they’re not that much. hope the baby bird lives. good luck!

It is very unusual to see a young dove. We have hundreds around our place, and the nest in the pines and spruce trees. I only saw a baby bird one time. So I would say the mother would have came back had you left it where you found it, and told the kids to leave it alone. But since you have it, it appears to be big enough to eat on it’s own. Try some hard boiled eggs. Just cut one in half and leave it in the shell for it. Usually they won’t eat if they are full. Good luck with birdie.
