I have 1 male and 2 female parakeets in one 3-bird cage. I have recently figured out that my two females are both pregnant. I need two nesting boxes, and I can only fit one in the cage. I have another 1-bird cage, but it won’t fit a nesting box probably. Any suggestions on questions or on the baby’s? This is my first time with a pregnant parakeet!
sum people break cage a bit nd dey fix nest outside of cage nd der ill be littel hole from cage to dat nest

How did you figure out your budgies are pregnant ? I think you are confused about how budgie breeding works.
Budgies do not get pregnant so if you are seeing a swelling anywhere on the body it wont be that. A day or two before laying eggs there will be an egg sized bump under the tail at the vent area and nowhere else.
Its by attaching a nestbox that you force breeding to the point of egglaying and raising babies. If you have no nestbox and nowhere they consider a good place to lay eggs then the chances are you have no eggs on the way at all.
The cage for ONE PAIR of breeding birds need to be a minimum of 2 ft wide ( 60cms) by a foot and a half deep by a foot and a half high…minimum. Nestbox attached externally with entry from inside.
If you birds are not 12 months do not encourage breeding by attaching a nestbox.
