  1. sounds cruel but leave it there..if you do to much to or around the babies the parents will abandond it. Watch from a far..if no activity for a day then take it and nurse it back to health..

Just beware of rodents and snakes and birds of prey cause they will eat it.

    *good luck*

if you touch it too much birds are vary sensetive to smell and will abandon the baby but also i agree if there is too much action around the bird the parents will ot touch it…if no activity take it in and feed it ect…….but if you dont want a pet you can call your local spca or animal shelter? im not sure but there is a number you can call and they will come and take it and take care of it and relese it back into the wild unless it is like a crow or something i dont think they save those because there are so many of them……good luck! get better birdie <3

  5. The parents may not be coming to feed if you are too close to the baby…you would be considered a predator. How do you know it has not eaten in 8 hours..have you been watching for 8 hours straight? If not…then you most likely missed their visits to feed. Watch from afar..where the parents cannot see you and you can see them to see if they are still tending to this baby. you can place the baby in a basket with handle and add grass etc. for warmth and hang it (tie it) up as close as possible to the original nest location..this will keep the bird safe from cats and other ground predators. The parents may feel safer feeding it up high as well. After this…keep your distance as not to disturb the parents. ONLY if you are positive the parents have stopped feeding, then get the bird to a local wildlife rehab:
