I know that alot of people ask questions like the questions that I need help on but i need a little bit more of information…
1.My female parakeet has a white and light-blue cere, can it breed without the cere changing to brown or must it turn brown for it to breed?
2.I don’t know if the male bird that i think is the male is really a male…His cere at the bottom is dark purple and the top of the cere varies from light blue to dark blue…Is it a male?
3.What size cage dimensions would be appropriate for breeding budgies?
4.And what size nesting box?

It does not have to be brown! I said that before, just believe me as I said my budgie’s weren’t like that and they bred.
Your male you think a male is a male….I answered all these on your last post.
A cage 2″ by 3″ would be enough for your budgies.
Half a foot length and half a foot width.

1. It all depends on her age. It’s best not to breed budgies until they are around 1 year of age. Usually the female’s cere will turn brown when she is ready, but not always. I had a female budgie who was ready to breed and her cere remained a whitish-blue color. In fact, it was that color all of her life.
2. Yes, this is a male budgie. Since his cere isn’t yet totally bright blue, he doesn’t sound mature enough to breed. I wouldn’t breed a male until the cere has changed completely, or he’s at least around 1 year of age.
3. The cage should be at least 24″ wide by 16″ deep and 16″ high.
4. The nesting box should be 5 1/2″ high, 7″ deep, and 10″ long. It should have a landing perch and a top that will flip for easy cleaning. Budgies usually like two nesting boxes, so I would suggest buying two of them.

the cage you have them in is probably ok just go to the pet store and tell them you need a nesting box for parakeets /budgies it should say in the bottom of the box when you put the box in they should do the rest when its time
