  2. I would just buy a nestbox and save any problems.
Use wood shavings instead of paper, and make sure the nestbox has a concave dip in the bottom to prevent splayed legs. Don’t be too worried if the budgies toss the bedding out, they are picky about their nests, and the eggs won’t break from being laid on wood.

  3. You can buy a nest box from a pet shop/over the internet. They are easy to get your hands on! if you cannot find something in time the parents will look for the softest thing and probably lay their eggs in their food bowl! Mine have done that a few times. Don’t tress too much, in the wild no one ever gave them net boxes! Even if you just give them nesting materials like non toxic wood, sticks, wood shavings, paper, hay, most things really and they will make their own little spot to lay in.

I hope this helps! Have fun with your parakeets! :)

  4. Anyone who says paper or cardboard does not know what they are talking about. No way would that last the distance with breeding budgies. Wooden nestboxes ( budgie/parakeet ones ) is the right thing to have and they arent all that expensive anyway. But since you have NOT worked out the sex of your birds yet, then you dont need to be doing this anyway.
I have seen the video of your birds and they are BOTH FEMALE.

I own over 300 show budgies and have bred thousands of chicks. I am admin of a budgie forum
I own parrots, finches and canaries. I am a member of 3 exhibition budgerigar clubs
