im not a bird expert but from my point of veiw i think that one of the males are being territoriel/jelous of the eggs that are not his.i think that he may be pushing the eggs out of the nesting box because its not his own. then when then female lays an egg from himself, another male will do the same. a circl of uselessness really….

This is typical when you breed colony style.
1. it is female behaviour NOT MALE. (Allegra is wrong ) Another female wants the nestbox so she takes it over and cleans it out ready for herself. Cleaning it out involves throwing out anything in the nestbox, whether its eggs or chicks. If its chicks they will be killed.
2. You have to have TWICE as many nestboxes as you have females or pairs not just one for each pair.

you have chosen the hardest way to breed budgies and you are in for deaths, broken eggs and heartache by breeding this way. Stress on the birds can result in sickness and death also.
I’ve been there….done that….and dont do it anymore.

They often just don’t go through with the egg, maybe because they don’t really know what to do with it.
Once my parakeet laid an egg on the newspaper in the bottom of the cage, we put it into the nest box for her, but it just sat there and sat there, never hatched so we just had to throw it away
