Why is it that when I enter my bird’s cage to feed him, clean it, or change his toys, he violently attacks me? What can I do to stop this behavior, other than fight back?
He was given to me by a relative about 6-9 months ago. He was never this aggressive, it has gotten worse over the last 2 months or so. Great answers (with a few exceptions) so far. Thank you all!!

edit:Is there anything besides water that i can give to him?None of us drink water at dinner,maybe a little but we usually have a beverage or some sort.I was just wondering what i can use.
Hi i’m llooking for a cockatiel rescue. We took a hand feed out of a home because he was just in a cage by himself all day. We’d like to find a better home for him with other birds and someone who would play with him and let him out more. How do bird lovers deal with the fact that you can’t house break a bird?
I saw a bird in the pet shop. It looks like a parrat but the lady called it a Rain Bowlerkeet or something like that. It was blue and red. Can I keep this as a pet? Will it talk? Do I need a cage? What do I feed it? I have a goldfish.
Birds are constantly flying into the window and killing themselves. What can we do to stop this from happening?
