<description>No. There&#039;s chicken EGGS in bird seed. Its good for their beaks. Tiels can eat anything you SHOULD eat. Give him all the chicken nuggets he wants. He&#039;ll only love you for it.

<description>1. Should i take one of the males out of the cage? (i know which one appears to be the dad, but should i remove the other one?)

Is the other male attacking the hen or male? Is he trying to get in the box? Is he being attacked? If they are not bothering each other then they should be fine just keep an eye on them, as soon as they start to fight and you are sure which one is the father take the spare out.

2. should i put shredded news paper or something inside the box?
No newspaper. Once the chicks hatch you can put substrate in, wood chipping is best, nothing that is dusty and this can cause respiratory problems.

3. Will the mum bird feed the babys? and what will she feed them? theres plenty of seed inside the cage that she eats
The parents will feed the chicks, make sure that they have a cuttle fish, iodine block, egg food, seeds, millet sprays and fresh fruit and veggies available. Also the day before the first chick is meant to hatch soak some seed for them, this should be soaked in water over night, then kept out of water, you should wash it until the water rungs clear,(best done in a sieve or a bottle cut in half, turned upside down with small holes in the lid),

4. i had a look in the box today and the eggs appear to be rolling around abit, there is a shallow dug-out part in the box, but should i do anything else?
If the concave isn&#039;t very deep and the eggs are rolling excessively you can put some wood chippings in just to help the eggs stay in place, the hen may remove them but as there are already eggs in she may just ignore them. Don&#039;t put too much in just enough to stop the eggs rolling.

<description>Seriously, I hate people that talk about New Orleans that way. And it&#039;s not just the fact that people are taking New Orleans for face value and weighing the bad (crime... which by the way, if ya&#039;ll haven&#039;t noticed, Camden, NJ is the #1 highest crime rate in US and new orleans is in the low end of the top 10). There are so many fires destroying California right now and everyone still wants to rebuild that. Why? Why judge N.O for one mistake? Find out when the last seriously damaging hurricane was. I almost guaruntee that it was at least a decade ago. These fires in California are EVERY WEEK! And don&#039;t give me the crap about &quot;New Orleans is a cesspool of crime and filth&quot; because...um.. hello, COMPTON. There are humans in New Orleans, living and breathing, cut us and we bleed... why shouldn&#039;t we be entitled to a home to call our own? And people didn&#039;t sit around and wait for government checks to come in, they had to haul off debris and there leftover memoirs as well as bury empty caskets. I had to bury my little sister because a 250 ft pine tree fell on top of her. I also had to goto a few other funerals with the same old story. So, I have come to the conclusion that you people are idiots. Republican, conservative, morons who take things for face value. Let&#039;s see how you handle a situation like that. Try burying your children, mother, father, siblings, etc..Let&#039;s see how YOU handle the government that YOU thought would protect you, not even give the food and water-the basic essentials of life. Let&#039;s see what happens when you go bankrupt, lose your house, lose your family, and lose all faith in government. And until you do... I would love to see if you still wanted to post this question.

<description>If you are real sure which bird is the mate to the female then remove the other one. 2. No nesting material is needed the hen lays her eggs on bare wood.3.Both birds will feed the young &amp; its usually regurgitated seed, I would advise adding some fresh greens as well as seed &amp; millet once the young are born.4.Don&#039;t worry, leave the eggs alone.
Budgies given the chance will breed constantly, but if you intend to breed you must limit them to at least 3 breeding periods a year. As soon as the young can move for themselves they must be removed to an individual cage. The nest box as well must be removed.

There is a lot of detail to go into if you intend to breed birds, so I suggest you buy some books on the subject. For books on budgies as a hobby, there is a great book published by Save-Our-Planet. All the profits from book sales go to conservation. Hope all this helps.

<description>No. Most &quot;beach&quot; birds are opportunist eaters, meaning that they will usually eat whatever they can get there beaks on...including human foods. Besides there are many creatures that cannibalize, it&#039;s just a matter of survival.

<description>congratulations, sounds like you will be a a grandma soon. as long as the mother is doing her part i would do anything, just let them take care of them. at this point there is no need to remove anyone from the cage, if there comes a problem then i would remove the other bird. you can put a few shreds of newspaper in the bottom of the cage, so this way if they want to put it in the nest they will do it. with some breeds of birds they shares the responsibilities of caring for there babies. the parents will roll the eggs around so that all sides will stay warm. this is needed to hatch. at this point it sounds like the parents have everything under control and no need for you to do anything but sit back and watch. good luck

I own over 300 show budgies and have bred thousands of chicks. I am admin of a budgie forum http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au
I own parrots, finches and canaries. I am a member of 3 exhibition budgerigar clubs</description>

<description>Caring for a Macaw is a life long commitment. Make sure your future husband likes them! They can live 100+ years!

They do best in a house as they can be loud. They need the largest cage you can afford.

All birds need several hours of out of cage time every day to be happiest. This means interaction with it&#039;s people, toys, and even training if you want to teach them tricks.

A diet of 80% pellets, 15% fresh and cooked human foods, and 5% seeds and treats is pretty standard for parrots. You want to make sure that you also remove all teflon coated products from your home. When heated, it emits a fume that is toxic to birds. Stainless steel cookware is best.

You want to make sure that you have an avian vet that will see macaws. A regular vet doesn&#039;t always have the expierence treating birds.

You will also spend a lot of money on toys. Macaws are notorious for taking a $50.00 toy and turning it into toothpics in a day.

The best way to learn everything you need to know about caring for macaws would be to contact some local breeders and visit their facilities. This means seeing all the birds they have. If the cages are dirty, cramped, or don&#039;t have toys you should not purchase from them.

Also keep in mind that you will not be able to travel as easily. You will either have to take the bird with you, or find a pet sitter. I don&#039;t reccomend boarding your bird as birds are highly suseptable to airborn diseases and they transmit very easily from bird to bird. Some are able to be cured, others will kill your bird.

You can also subsribe to Bird Talk Magazine, they have great articles on bird care. This month&#039;s issue is about what to expect when expecting a new baby bird.

<description>By all means YES do take the extra male out of the cage...he shouldnt be there.
You seem to have the concave in the nestbox so dont add anything at this stage. Once babies start arriving yes you can add some nesting materials ( not paper ).
You should not have put the nestbox INSIDE the cage as you will need to check babies twice a day once they arrive....very hard to do with the nestbox inside the cage. Best attached outside with access through the nestbox hole from inside to the external nestbox.
Read this article I wrote http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=13358 once you read that you will realise the importance of being able to access the nestbox easily.
Parents feed the babies if they are old enough to know what they are doing. If you are breeding very young and silly budgies expect some problems ( over 12 months is the right age to breed ).
Prior to breeding the parents should be on daily good food, including vegies and fruit and continue this through egglaying stage and them feeding babies....so the whole family is healthy.
Better advice to be had here http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au than some advice you will get.

<description>maybe put some food in your hand and see if they&#039;ll come and eat it. If you&#039;re afraid you&#039;re gonna get bitten, try putting it in the bowl thing you use to feed him.

<description>This is &quot; The Maggie B.&quot; by Irene Haas. It&#039;s actually a little girl and her baby brother. The Maggie B. is the name of the boat. My daughter loves that book!

P.S. I am a children&#039;s librarian. :)
