baby birds?

We found a baby bird out on the lawn and everytime I threw bread out it’d open it’s beak. I didn’t give it any. There are no trees around, but two adult birds but we can’t tell if they’re the parents because they won’t feed it. It ran across the road so my brother led it over there safely but it tried coming back to our side. W e put it back on the other side and all it does is sit there and chirp chirp chirp. What should I do, the adult birds are gone, i’m afraid it’ll get runover or starve.

Is it okay to feed an insectivorous bird lizard pellets?

I’ve been taking care of some baby birds (Sparrows to be exact) and I know they are naturally insectivorous. I’ve been feeding them moistened cat food and some crickets, and now that they’re getting older, I’d like to switch them to a food that woint spoil if I leave it out for them. I looked at all the adult bird foods, but the protein percent isn’t high enough. However, a package of Bearded Dragon pellet food I found has a very high protein percentage and seems safe for the birds to eat. Would this be a suitable diet, so long as I supplemented it with other seeds and fruits?

P.S. Please do not get all “legal” on me for keeping sparrows. If you do your research, they are not native species and I don’t need a permit to foster them. So if you don’t have something helpful to say, pick on someone else. I’ve had too many people bash me for not having a permit.
I found a food very suitable for insectivorous birds. I ordered it, it will come from Italy, and I no longer need any responses. It IS a house sparrow, and I DON’T need a permit. Thanks for not beleiving me once again. Trust me, I won’t be asking any more questions about my birds from now on sice everyone thinks I have no idea what I’m doing.

I have two adult Double Yellow head amazons to breed, can I mount my nest box OUTSIDE the cage ?

My cage is not real big (3x5x5) so I don’t want to clutter the inside of the cage with a huge nest box. I’d like to make a hole in the bars so I can mount the box outside and have the birds access it from the hole in the cage, but I don’t know if the birds will find it foreign and not enter the box. Any info would be appreciated.

My Dad rescued a squab (baby pigeon) when some kids were shooting at the pigeons. What should we feed it?

The bird has some adult feathers, but mostly soft baby ‘down.’ I’ve successfully raised baby sparrows and starlings with a cooked rice and mushed dog food gruel, would it work for a pigeon?

Cat caught a bird and want to know what to do?

My cat was messing with a bird looks like a female finch ( http://animals.timduru.org/dirlist/bird/misc/SudiaBirdPhoto_089-PurpleFinch-Female.jpg ) something like that. It is about 3 inches so I am assuming it is not a baby. The only thing is it seems really mellow which i wouldn’t incorporate with a adult wild bird. What should i try to do with it such as feeding and watching over it. It doesn’t fly but has flapped its wings…it doesn’t seem hurt just maybe alittle shocked. What should I do
The bird just flew….made it maybe 25 feet…seemed rather healthy but just a little weak to fly further… At this point should i just keep it in a box and give it a couple hours of rest or what?
