@ Steve ‘ Art: my mistake i meant he took the pair away wen there babies were 4 weeks old.

@ millypeed: i have the cage in da Shed in the back garden, i was also concernced about that aswell but the breeder said it doesnt matter becasue he has around 100 african greys pair out in the same situitation.and they are all fi9 ..and i am 100% sure that there is no possiblily of rain getting in my shed but ill get a heater put in the shed aswell jus in case..

can i tranfer the cage of my african love bird into a new location even if they have eggs in their nest box?

ill just transfer the cage but im affraid that the eggs will not be hatched if they were disturbed during the transfer

I have two African Grey Parrots that starting to mate again?

I need information on the measurements for a nesting box. They have bred before and usually lay 3 eggs each time. I just inherited these great birds. Any info would be great, food desires and toy info would help as well. I want to keep them happy
I do know how to take care of Birds I just haven’t experienced Greys beore. I know the breeding process and how to handle and hand feed babies. I just needed specifics. I wnat them to be happy. IF making babies makes them happy then so be it.

My boyfriend’s African Grey Parrot is OBSESSED with me! Why?

I’m just curious if anyone has any idea why. I moved in with my boyfriend and his lovely African Grey a while ago. The Parrot is about 16 years old and is a really nice bird but a while after I moved in he started trying to feed me (regurgitating his food for me), he’ll climb off my boyfriend and try to get to me whenever I’m around and I can get away with handling him and petting him in ways my boyfriend would get bit for! I’ve never had a parrot before and my boyfriend says the bird’s never acted this way around anyone before. Does he just have the hots for me or something? I didn’t do anything special to get all this love from him.
he’s a great talker and i really do love him to death. i’m just curious why he’s in love with me all of a sudden. :) i cherish his silly little birdy luv.

My pet finch is acting weird, what to do?

Lately my girl finch has been getting quiet, she is usually the loudest of all my other birds. I have 3 finches, I have 2 females, 1 male, african grey, parrolet. I don’t my finches mated or anything because I don’t have a nest box in their cage. :( What do I do? Do I put a nest box in there just in case? I really don’t want any more finches. (it’s not mating season is it?) Is my finch dying?

African Grey Parrots?

I have a breeder pair of Greys. I blocked off their nest box in Jan 09 because I was going to England for an extended stay. They have raised me some wonderful babies. Now they won’t breed. I allowed them back into their box for a year now. I have tried every trick that I know and haven’t had any luck.

They are a wild caught pair from the Congo. The almost never come out of their box when I am in the bird building. Then the came out of their box for about three weeks. I hadn’t seen them out in their cage that much since I bought them six years ago. Then they went back to their regular routine. They have finished up their moult and still nothing. I have sixteen pair of Amazons and almost every pair either has eggs or working the box.

Pets r Wild.

I didn’t ask for your opinion on the origination of my parrots. Go hug a d*mn tree somewhere.
I am a responsible breeder who takes much better care of my birds than the average person who keeps a pet parrot.

I feed fresh fruits and veggies every day. I give Nekton supplements. My birds are fed a pelleted diet by Zupreem. They are vet checked once a year. They are on a regular regimen for worms. The person who took care of my birds is a very good bird person.

I have averaged raising 36 parrots a season for the last four years. I not concerned with illness in my parrots. I have read where they will stop breeding for several years only to take back up. My birds have been in captivity for 16 years. (documented) They raised big healthy babies in the past. ????????
