Why ask, if you don’t want the correct answer?

People ask what to do for a sick/injured/orphaned wild animal they found. At least 5 people tell them to call a licensed wildlife rehabilitator, it is illegal to keep any native wild animal in the US without proper permits. They pick as best answer the one that tells them how to take care of the animal themselves. What part of illegal don’t they understand?

A person asks what not to feed her pet bird. Several people tell her not to feed it chocolate, it is deadly to birds. They cite avian vets and websites of experts to back up their answers. She edits her question to tell everyone she feeds her bird chocolate and it does not harm it at all.

If you are only looking for an answer that agrees with your preconcieved notions, if you are going to do what you want to do, no matter what you learn here, why waste your time, and the time of the people who give thoughtful, well-researched answers?

Which of the following examples of behavior provide evidence of animal cognition?

a. chimpanzee stacking up boxes to reach a banana
b. ravens pulling up a string to obtain attached food item
c. injury-feigning behavior of ground-nesting bird
d. the cognitive map of jay that enables it to retrieve food from its many catches
e. all of the above show evidence of information processing and animal cognition
i was leaning towards E as well because the first 3 options clearly demonstrate cognitive behavior

I found a baby sparrow in my parking lot…What kind of treatment should I give to it?

It was wet and cold. There are a bunch of trees out there and it’s very difficult to spot a nest, if there is one, so what I’ve decided so far is to keep it until it is strong enough to be by itself. I’m not a complete ignorant about the animal kingdom, but still I would like to get some more information from personal experiences about sparrows and how to pet them or just keep them alive. I have helped other birds before but not that small. I’m going to try to find the nest, or the mother. How to feed the bird would be a good start. Thanks and please answer this if you really know what you are talking about, if not, go make some points somewhere else.
Hello?!!! found it in a parking lot?!! There is a car parked right now where I found it. Can it fly or whatever…didn’t seem to because it was just there all wet and it didn’t even try to fly away. As far as I know, some birds can’t fly with their feathers wet…and it’s illegal…ok …what are they going to do? give me a fine or put me in jail cause I was trying to help an animal? screw that!!
Fuck that bird!! I killed it!! because I found out that the bird had a cut on its back and when I put some Scilocaine to mitigate the pain, maggots started to crawl out the wound!!! f’ing disgusting!! so I chopped its head off to end its pain!! Now I want to fumigate the whole house!! I’m so grossed out, I don’t even want to sleep in my room!!

Name a country song about an animal..?

A few examples are:

Old Red by George Jones
The Bird by George Jones
Sneaky Snake
Who’s Gonna Feed The Hogs? by Tom T Hall
George jones also sings that same song, I don’t know who the original singer is, but George does a version of it also.

Can one murder an animal?

In answer to another question, someone said one can not murder and animal. Unfortunately, that is not correct (Numbers 31:28; St Luke 3:6), as any animal lover knows, but it is all so very easy to do.
Another said thousands of animals are killed. Unfortunately, it is two million according to PETA. Another said we can’t feed all these animals. Why not? Hundred dollars each would do it, I think. We spent a hundred times that much to poison dandelions (weeds, worms, small animals, dogs and cats who walk on the pesticide, birds, and the water table).
I know the shelters are doing about all they can, but we build more shelters.
It is people understanding that has to change. Without love, animals will die.

are you an animal lover!?

I AM! I think that it is my job to help ever needy animal that i see! haha!

I have fish, a puppy, a fat cat, a boa…

my new thing is feeding the birds outside! I love the sparrows but the chickadees are my favorite! but the crows i don’t care for, i scare them away, their so mean to the other birds!!

:)
and why would i not like alligators? I just wouldn’t want one because i have to room for it! haha…i love everything but spiders!

HELP!!! wild animal (bird) attacked, hurt, parents gone?

PLEASE READ
A little past 10 pm, my family heard a noise coming from the outside. For about three weeks the mother and father has been there, but recently two infant birds were born. (about one week old). After realizing that the mother bird was no longer keeping the birds warm, we decided it was only safe to bring them inside. We made a nest out of rabbit hay, which we put into a shoe box. Then we gently placed the birds in. One of the birds has a cut and is breathing heavily, and one of them are fine. We put a heating pad on top of the shoebox, placed it in a 70 degrees room. We are wondering what else is possible to help keep these birds alive, we understand that raising them is illegal and we plan to bring them to a shelter when safe. Thank you for reading, and I will update the question to tell you how things are going.
they are morning doves
I have not fed anything yet… It’s almost midnight and I attempted contacting a shelter but they didn’t pick up
