I have a female ringneck and we have had her for about 2.5 years and in the aviary she is in there is a nesting box. why wont she go in there? even when I put her in there she wiggles like a worm to get out. Why is she not going in there. she is use to it. about 1 year. she flys on top of it but that’s it. Any Tops???
Is there anything I can do to generate fresh water daily and ways to make sure they have enough feed to last (there are 11 cockatiels plus babies in the nesting box)? Thanks!

I have two parakeets (budgies) and two doves. I want to build an aviary in my backyard for my birds (I don’t like seeing them in a small cage) I live in the san jose, ca area and I was wondering if my parakeets would be fine living outside if the have nest boxes to sleep in? My parakeets are not tamed in any way so I am not worried about keeping them tamed or anything like that.

Hi i have an aviary in my garden and when i was feeding my birds i found 2 small eggs on the floor of the aviary. They were kicked out of the nest so i decided to give them a chance even though the eggs may be empty. Right now they’re in a semi heated bowl with lots of bedding and a blanket of top. How long must i keep them like this? Please help me because if i keep them in for too long something may happen or too short well i dont know PLEASE help me and the birds! And also if and when they do hatch, what do i feed them? I know they wont eat birdseed should i by formula? Any advice would be great! Thank you!
By the way they are parakeet eggs. Please can more people answer this i REALLY REALLY REALLY need help! I’m freaking out because i have 2 parakeet eggs and i dont know what to do! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!
Well I have quite a big aviary in the backyard with 5 budgies in it. 3 are male & 3 are female. Theres 3 nesting boxes and lately when i’ve been checking the birds I have found eggs on the floor, cracked. Today i went and checked on them to see 1 egg in the nesting box, but hours later i checked them again and it was on the floor, cracked. I’m not sure whats happening? Any help? Thanks
ive an african grey parrot that lives in an aviary in my backyard….the other day when i went to feed it it shouted,,,,,f__k off fatty at me…i was very upset as i love and care for this bird and thats the thanks i get…i`m also puzzled to where he learnt such foul language….how can i get him to stop swearing as he also called my dear old mother a wrinkly old bag…

How do you breed parakeets and be sucessful?
How do you breed parakeets and be successful? Cuz when i researched it says you have to change the next box bedding and that you have to keep it moist. I wanted to try to breed my parakeets(ps i am keeping all the babies and we have an aviary for them so please no rude comments). Please help me . Have you ever breed your birds? were you successful? What did you do with the nest (did you change the bedding?And if you did how did you change the bedding with the eggs in the nest box?) Did you handfeed?
