taming my birds?

I would like to tame my baby birds but I am afraid that if I touch them when they are babies that the parents won’t want to take care of them anymore and I don’t know how to take care of them if the parents do stop, if I wait until they are old enough to feed themselves will it be to late? Like do you have to work at taming them before they get to a certain age? And is there anything I can do to get them used to me when they are babies without having to actualy touch them?

have baby parakeets, need info on them please!!?

my pair of parakeets have mated and the female laid 6 eggs. As of yesterday 3-24-09 the first egg hatched. This morning the 2nd egg hatched. What if any thing do I need to do. The female never would made a nest. We bought nesting hairs and put the box in the cage but she would not have any thing to do with it. So I had to put straw in the nesting box my self. She pushed a lot of it out of the box. The rest is spread out in a circle in the box.The babies are laying on the bottom of the box. Not the straw.Should I put more straw in the box? The cage is small and so is the nesting box. Should I put a bigger box in for a bigger nest? I want to do all that I can to help these little birds. I have enjoyed my bird very much even thow they will not let me touch them. We have had them for 1yr and 1 month. I got them from my nephew. Them raise birds on their back pourch. But they let the birds do all the feeding and raising of the babies.

is something wrong with my parakeets?

they’re making some noise now but they don’t move a whole lot or play with the toys i gave them. i put in a nesting box but they don’t go in it. this is my first time with parakeets but my family has been raising canaries and some miniature parrots since i was 5, so i’m not a beginner with birds. i don’t buy birds at pet stores so these were from a breeder. she said they’d had babies before and that the female would probably lay eggs soon. they’re better than they were a few days ago but i’m still wondering, am i doing something wrong?

Provide wet or dry oats to cockatiel parents? The mother still eating bird soil is it ok for baby too?

I just fed my cockatiel parents instand wet oatmeal cereal made by Quakers. Just mixed with hot water. Is this the correct way or should I give it dry and mix with their usual seed mix? As the mother still enjoys eating the soil I add some calcium mix powder with it. Will the babies be ok if the mother feeds them with the soil mix? When I try new food, must I remove the seed mix and soil to force them to eat the new food? What happens if they don’t eat enough to feed the chicks?

How often do they need to be fed?? 10 pts best answer?

I have 3 pacific parrotlets babies, I have decided to take them out of the nesting box at 3 weeks to handfeed them so when it is time to find them homes they will be tame. So my questions are, when do I start introducing them to normal bird food, and how often do they need to be hand-fed at 3 weeks? Any advice will help..thanks!
The reason I ask is that I go to school 3 hours a day 5 days a week, and if they need to be fed like ever 2 hours or something I will just wait untill they are even older to take the out

will my cockatiels still mate if i take the nesting box out?

my cockatiels have already had chicks and the babies have all gone to good homes but when i take the nesting box out my male bird starts pulling out the females feathers…
