On June 4th 2011 I caught a first glimpse of a first young Swift in one of my two nest boxes. The three eggs were layed (as far as I could see) on May 12th, 15th and 18th. Let’s hope for a good summer so all three young will make it into beautiful adults!

I do maintenance at an apartment complex and this has become a project, I tried building boxes uses finish trim pieces and 2 x 4′s, but these mud swallows are so persistent and protected so it has to be humane and like I said most importanly still look good.

hi, I love birds, but sadly i can’t keep them in the house, so i was wondering if i got canaries, finches, parakeets, small birds like that, and built a couple big nest boxs and put hay, or burlap in the boxes and put seed and water out for them everyday, would they survive? there aren’t any loose cats around my house, would they all get along? what are some other birds, besaides the ones i mentioned? please dn’t say pigeon, or qual. thanks!
oh they would be loose, they wouldn’t be in a cage.
