My lovebird just hatched her first egg today! And I understand that they hatch a few more eggs later on in the week, is that right? I also noticed that my lovebirds hatched it inside the nesting box without nesting materials, is it alright? Should I put some in or put some on the cage floor and let them do it themselves. I also want to know how long since hatch-day should I candle their eggs, is it 5 days after the 3rd egg is laid, or 6-7 days after an egg was laid. And what ideal nesting materials to put, and what ideal food to give for these “parents-to-be”. It’s currently raining here every so often, like, every 3 and a half to 4 hours a day, sometimes strong sometimes mild. And in the morning it’s a bit chilly. We put the birds at our laundry room, it’s outside. . .the cage can feel the chill but they can’t feel the rain because our laundry room is under a roof at our yard… Is it fine to put them there? They could only feel the slight chill, is that ok? Or should I keep them in the house from now on?
