Feeding Mourning Doves & Other Wild Birds
I put out black-oil sunflower seed to attract some birds and within a week and a half I had up to 25 mourning doves on my deck at a time. Other birds include Blue Jays, Finches, Cardinals, Titmice etc… They arrive around 6:30 am to 7:00 am and are in and out through out the day. I have a cardinal (bird) that keeps taping on my window, please make it STOP!!!?
Every year there’s a cardinal that comes and taps on my window, every spring, it usually ends by summer, it’s NOT the same bird, one year it was a female and this year it’s a male, although I hear cardinals don’t migrate and mate for life so it could be the same “couple” I just want to know what to do to get them to STOP! I’ve tried feeding them (because I read an article that said they will do that when they are hungry) didn’t TOUCH the bird seed and kept tapping on the window, anyone know WHY or what I can do to get them to stop, besides being annoying they are dirtying up my windows, but mostly driving me NUTS!!!

Variety of Birds at My Feeder
Just a few of the birds that visit my feeder throughout the day. The guests are: Northern Cardinal, Purple Finch, White Breasted Nuthatch, Tufted Titmouse, and Sparrow. I have a new Feeding pole that has three hooks now and is much higher so the birds aren’t in danger of hungry cats that I have running around my neighborhood. I will have a video of the new feeder pole soon…. along with a new feeder I recently bought.
