My Cockatiel fertile egg laying process? HELP :)?

My male and female Cockatiels recently conceived an egg 3 days ago and the other yesterday. I am just uncertain of why they are not in the nesting box all the time to incubate their eggs. Whenever i open the cage both of them come out of the nesting box or cage and play with me. But sometimes one goes in to sit on the eggs. will the baby birds die in the egg if their parents are not constantly incubating them?

Feeding My Birds Eggs?

I want to feed my birds the eggs they lay, shell and all (my main egg layers are the quails and zebra finches.. and occasionally I get some from my cockatiels and dove).

Assuming this is okay, how do you reccomend preparing the eggs (hard boiled, scrambled, etc?)

Or is it better just to feed chicken eggs or no eggs at all?

Sorry if people from the bird section are getting sick of all my questions one after an another.. but I have a lot of real questions to ask…

will my cockatiel be able to be a surrogate mother?

I found a robins egg, and for the heck of it I decided since I have several cockatiels and parakeets, maybe one of them could sit on the egg until it hatches. I figure its better than letting it die. Well, anyway, it hatched and all of the birds in my cage(very big cage), want to play parent. They are feeding the baby, but now what? Will it get the nutrition it needs? Do I keep a wild bird? How will it know how to fly if I set it free when the time comes? Any help here would be great.

Bad Situation: Can a Female Bird Raise Chicks By Herself?

Long story short: I had male and female cockatiels that were mating periodically, but were not a bonded pair. The nestbox was there, but male didn’t let her inside (b/c they weren’t bonded). He was being too aggressive to her in the cage, so we finally sold him. About a week later, the female is comfortable with entering nesting box, and lays an egg, and probably more coming soon (my mistake, should have taken off the nesting box right away.)

So now the situation: since we only sold the male about a week ago, her eggs MIGHT be fertile. Question is, if eggs will indeed be fertile, can the female cockatiel take care of the eggs and chicks by herself? Or is the male 100% required to help?

Any suggestions and tips on what to do would be helpful.
