I heard a varied diet helps to increase the lifespan of these birds. Someone suggested fresh fruits and vegetables. How, and what can I feed my budgie?

I’ve been reading alot about how raw food is good for cats. My cat is currently on a moist and dry food diet. She gets a small can of moist food in the morning and a small can of moist food in the evening and I leave dry food for her 24 hours to free feed. She’s 10 months old and very active and happy and healthy. I have read though that a raw diet is the best but I’m curious if cats can contract the same diseases we can from raw food like worms and e-coli. People tell me they feed their cats raw chicken but what about bird flu. Is this really healthy for cats?? Let me know your experiences and if you feed your cat raw food.
We’ve had one parakeet now for a few years and we feed it a bird seed and millet spray (millet only on occasion). I know some people feed fruits and other things though so I’m just wondering if this diet is actually harmful or just not as healthy perhaps?
We had two parakeets before this and they only lived maybe 2-3 years, and I’m wondering why. My dad decided to get another one yesterday and so we have two more and I don’t want to see it happen again. Unless that is normal they only live that long?
Also about their cage condition they have food and water changed once a day, toys, mirror, food treat, and some stone thing they sharpen beak on. Is that all they need?
I’m not looking to be obsessive about their health I just want to see if there is anything we are doing that is actually harmful or will make them live shorter lives.
Also should it be ok to put the two birds together in same cage? One we had few years is male and I think the new one is female.
I only want pellet answers! I know about diet – fresh food – etc. What I want to know is what type of pellet food do you feed your bird and why? Have you tried other pellet food and what was your birds preference? Mine picks out certain colors, but I was told by the manufacturer that there is no flavor attached to the color and the bird just had a color preference. Do you get your food locally or do you have it shipped? What about expiration dates? Please try to answer all questions. Thank you

I supplement her diet with nuts, vegetables and fruit (lettuce, celery, grapes, apples) and even some cat food since I’ve read that hamsters are NOT vegetarians. Is all this enough or do I absolutely have to buy hamster food?

I just got lovebirds not long ago and i feed them dry bread anf letuce and of coarse their seed diet.
But i want to give them something new. This might sound stupid but i want to make a “cook book” i guess you can call it for my birds. I have a few recipies from the internet but always looking for more.
Also if someone may email and teach me a little about love birds. tell me what you do for your birds and how they/it reacts to it. This would be apreciated.
Thanks a bunch!!!
