One of the box turtles in the outdoor pen at Earthshine eating a bird that flew into a window. Box turtles are omnivorous and will eat almost anything that they can out run including carrion such as this unfortunate bird. If you have a “pet” box turtle please do not feed it only lettuce–you will kill it on a diet such as that. Feed it earthworms, crickets, pillbugs (rolly-pollys) fruits, berries, dead mice, fish, garden veggies, hard boiled eggs and mushrooms from your yard (where you do not put down fertilizers or weed killers). Be sure to occasionally use a high quality reptile vitamin when feeding especially if your turtles are indoors. Didgeridoo by Steve. RC Tarantula by Takara USA. Available in 3 colours and 2 frequencies (27MHz & 49MHz) Purchased from Grand River Toys CANADA.(EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE BTW) The wrong colour was sent by mistake and they immediately replaced it with the correct colour and asked me to Donate this one to a charity of my choice (Toronto Sick Kids) which I will gladly, on their behalf. Very generous of Grandriver Toys and they will certainly continue to get my business. Getting back to the RC TARANTULA …. It’s a very realistic looking giant size Tarantula spider measuring 6″ wide x 7″ long. Spider has a very realistic looking SIMULATED walk as the legs move independently of each other. That been said, the spider runs on small wheels and prefers smooth surfaces and can be made to go in any direction. It will not run on piled carpet ,grass or similar surfaces. The realistic leg movements have nothing to do with the propulsion of the spider at all. This toy is enough to scare the pants of any unsuspecting person. Definitely NOT FOR ARACHNOPHOBES. The nurses are surely going to be terrorized by this delightfully creepy creature. Your honest comments and ratings (good or bad) are always appreciated. Thank You!
