Quaker Parrots killed their 4 babies.?

My birds had 5 eggs and 4 had hatched about 1-2 days altogether. We were going to let them take care of their babies naturally, so we didn’t take out the eggs but we gave them food to feed the babies once they hatched. The 5th never hatched, so I have it set up with the light and everything if it does. Well, they had their 4 babies alive and about 1 or 2 days later, I saw them dead in their little cube box. They have a big enough cage and pretty much had everything made. I want to know what made the birds kill their babies.
Also, if they do have more eggs later on, we will take the eggs out once layed to prevent the killings again, but we are not planning to let them mate anytime soon. <<Just to let the bird breeders know so you all wouldn't get mad.

I found a nest in my house vent with a mommy bird and 4 eggs. What do I do?

The mom is alive but just lays with the eggs. We have seen the male go in the vent (we assume to feed her) but we can’t have the nest in the vent. I don’t know if there is a place that I can take them for a rescue, or what to feed her….. I just don’t want to let them die.
In Oregon it is legal to remove the nests of house sparrows, by the way. And I know how to secure it after they are out- that is not my question.

I found a wild baby bird and it just died, does anyone know why?

ok i was in Greely, Colorado the other day and a mother black bird was kicking her baby otu of the nest repeatedly after we put it back in the nest. So i brought it back to my house, Peyton, Colorado and it did fine. That is until about 2 days after ive had it here, it was eating and jumping around and stuff but then today i came in to feed again (eggs scrambled and finley smashed up with water and some baby formula) and it was laying on its side (this morning i noticed it had stopped chirping completley and was only making a weasing noise) i had no idea what to do so i hopped on the internet and tryed to find what i should dom and found nothing. He died about 15 minutes after i had seen him on his side. He was about 2-3 weeks old only had a few feathers and pink still showing, I would like to know why this happened. I beleive it could have been a respitory problem judging by the loss of chirping, but i had a heat lamp over him. *This was a BlackBird by the way* ANY ADVICE NEEDED!

How often do you feed your parrots?

I fill my bird’s food dishes up to the top every morning. I have two African Grey Parrots. They pick at it and eat on it all day. They throw half of it out. My question is: Do you leave food out for parrots all day? Or do you pick the food up and give it to them on a schedule? If so, how often should I feed them? They are sooooooo messy with their food. They are on a pellet diet and that is what I have trouble with. I also switch out fruits and veggies and I will make them eggs, pasta, rice, etc. but they gobble that stuff up. It is the pellet food they like to play with and make a mess out of.
Oh, it also makes cleaning thier cage a mess. They poop all of the time and everywhere.

Do you have to tame every budgie you get?

Hey yahoo. I am going to be a first time bird owner, and I was confused on something. Do you have to tame every budgie you get.(even if it was hand raised???) I have been doing research and all and It seems like everybody says ” well you have to tame it by……” or books will have headers Taming your bird, Taming your parakeet. And I am getting the impression that no matter what you have to tame the bird. But like I said I am still confused on that little tidbit of it. And is it true that if you get a female she will regardless of having a male or not she will lay eggs? And that if you have a female then you should have a nest box? Because if that’s the case then I will go with a male. I am continuing to do as much research as possible on the budgie before I actually get it. So I thank you for your time, and I would appreciate your answers. And please do not post a simple one word answer(ex yes, no, yes) I would appreciate it if you guys answer with at least a simple sentence. Thanks again for your time and answers. I really appreciate it tons.

my budgie wont lay on her eggs.?

ok, my bird is almost 5 months old, and shes laying eggs, and i dont know if they are fertile because she is in a cage with her dad and her.. other sibling. well i put them in a bowl with some nesting materials because i dont have anything else to put them in. in another cage i have a (lutino) hen and a cock in a nesting box and then one chick out of the 6 eggs that hatched. (the other 5 were duds). so im wondering if i should take the eggs from the one cage and put it with the lutino hen and her chick. the lution’s chick is about 18 days old, and the the first egg was lain 16 days ago.

and i have another question. in this third cage i have a hen that is on her second set of eggs this year. i didnt think that she would lay anymore (thats why i put the lutino and the male in the box) because she wasn’t in the cage with her mate, but i did see her doing it with this other male one time (which i didnt think would happen….) right now i have them in the best thing i could find that is close to a nesting box. shes in a popcorn box that has the top opened, and its on its side, on the bottom of the cage, but its really short and she cant really stand up on it. so would it be better just to put a bowl in there wit nesting things or no nesting things?

oh, thats alot. please help me.
the one that was 5 months old ate her egg. SHE ATE IT. or something. it was all gone and there were little white flecks on the bottom of the thing…

My budgie has started sitting on her eggs?

Now, I didn’t mean for them to breed but they have.

I have four budgies and one Indian Ring Neck Parrot. One of the female budgies has laid about 4 or 5 eggs in a nesting box that was already in the bird aviary and began sitting on them. Their only source of food is budgie seeds.

I wanted to know whether I should change their diet due to the female laying eggs?
What kind of food should be provided if the eggs successfully hatch?
Whether the fact that the budgies share a cage with my IRN Parrot will be of any danger to the chicks if they successfully hatch?

Any other information that would help me to assist my birds would also be helpful.
