How can one distinguish between individual wood pigeons. We feed birds in our back garden, and woodies are our steadiest customers. However, they are large, greedy birds, and left to themselves will devour everything. How can we permit several woodies to feed while preventing one of their number from monopolizing all the food? How do we tell individuals apart?

I had 2 birds competing for one nestbox in my yard. First, the tufted titmice were there. Then, about 3 days ago, I saw some annoying house wrens going into the box. I tried everything (including wren guards) to keep them out, but they still found a way to get in there. So, after noticing for 3 days that the house wrens were going in there and fearing that my chickadee’s nest would be there next target, I decided to place a trap over the entrance hole to move the birds far away from my yard ( I know I can’t kill them). But today I caught a tufted titmouse?
What’s going on? Are both species using the same nestbox? The only species that I’ve seen going in and out of the box are the house wrens.

I’ve been working in the same place for many years,but just 2 days ago I noticed something that I have seen before but I never wonder why.. through the window I can see a park most of the days birds flying or feeding on the ground…chasing each other.making noise..etc.. but 2 days ago everything was very quiet no a bird on the ground. they were on the trees although it was 10am.. at that moment I began wondering why is it? and I recalled having seen the same thing before. Could you please someone could tell me if they have witness a similar event wherever you are. and why is it? There must be something that on some specific days affects the bird behaviour

I love my wild bird, enjoy sitting and looking at them for hours at the feeds. I want to make some yummy treats for them but everything I find calls for suet, does anyone have a recipe for wild birds that does not call for suet?

I also have 3 other parakeets. One is the dad and the other two, which one is a female and the other a male. The momma bird has a nesting box that the eggs are in that is attached to the outside of the cage. When the babies hatch is there anything special I need to do for them and also should I take out the other two birds? I have not found a website that answers any of these questions.
will my budgie not sit on the eggs anymore because i moved her nesting box down further in her cage??? she knows knows where it is (she was in it when the box was moved), but shes climbing around the top of the cage. she is a very curious bird though, she’s just looking around, coz mum made me clean her cage today. so everything is moved around.
and how long can a budgie go without sitting on her eggs before they won’t hatch(because they go cold)???
ps. i had to move her nesting box!! because where it was sitting it could have fallen to the bottom of the cage and cracked all her eggs and hurt her aswell. and i was very carefull moving it. I sooo badly wont these eggs to hatch too coz my male budgie died

I went out and bought a car cover because it seemed they even saw their self in my tinted windows so I had to cover the whole car. Will they stop soon or will they do this until this fall? I can’t uncover my car for 5 mins without them coming and attacking it. When I get home I hae to put everything down and cover it up real fast or they come and attack it. Is this going to happen next year too? My husband is thinking of moving the nest box.
