Help! Anyone have experience with baby birds?

I found this newborn baby bird today.
I’m actually really surprised that he’s still alive.
because when i say newborn, i mean newborn.
his eyes aren’t open yet, and he doesn’t have feathers.
we looked all over for a nest, but can’t find one, so right now he’s outside in a shoe box filled with soft baby blankets.

i’ve been feeding him baby food, because i read somewhere that it was okay for them?

honestly, i’m not expecting him to live, so i’m trying not to get attached to him.
but the little assholes starting to grow on me.

does ANYONE have any experience caring for a newborn bird?

Is my parakeet about to lay an egg?

So I got these two parakeets about a year ago, and the female looks like it may be pregnant. I have no experience with bird breeding and I have done nothing in preparation for the egg(s) arrival. The female has a bump on its bottom, which I was told was a sign she was going to lay eggs, but sense its been about two weeks sense it was spotted, and that she has not acted any differently than before, I have become skeptical. I also have a nest box at the bottom of the cage, but neither her or the male hang around the bottom of the cage, and the male doesent seem to be protective of the female at all. Also, the only other sign I have noticed that I’ve read about is the heavy breathing, which is kind of normal sense both birds are very skittish. So is my bird going to lay an egg? Or can this mean shes sick? Im worried about her, and would appreciate response ASAP ^.^ thanx much

baby woodpecker info please? anybody have experience with raising them?

friend found the bird in her backyard, we think it’s a northern flicker possibly a sapsucker. it has some feathers but not all. she has it n a cardboard box with branch to stand on. shes feeding it some sort of mush. what should we do?

I have a pigeon… she/he adopted us… help?

we love emily, M as I call her. what is good food to feed her, i just dont think regular bird seed is apitizing… anyone with pigeons, or experience please let me know. I live in puerto rico and the stores I found don’t cater to pigeons… she is a sweet bird and is free to leave anytime she likes… she chooses to stay, so I do my best with my animals to keep them happy… ciao, Eric

“Basic” statistics problem concerning t-value – help!?

Blue titmice eat caterpillars. The birds would like lots of caterpillars around when they have young to feed, but they breed earlier than peak caterpillar season. Do the birds learn from one year’s experience when they time breeding the next year? Researchers randomly assigned 7 paris of birds to have a natural supply supplement while feeding their young and another 6 pairs to rely on natural food supply (control). The next year, they measured how many days after the caterpillar peak the birds produced their nestlings.

First, compare the two groups in the first year. The only difference should be the chance effect of the random assignment. The study report says, “In the experimental year, the degree of synchronization did not differ between food-supplemented and control females.” The report gives t = -1.05. What type of t statistic (paired or two-sample) is this? Show that this t leads to the quoted conclusion.

Help! I need answers fast! baby Robin birds found! HELP HELP HELP searching major advice!?

this is a long story so bear with me. you can leave now and answer other questions if you have no experience with baby birds. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE only answer if you know what you are talking about.

last night my mom and I found two starving baby birds under a bush where a nest fell out of a tree. one was very small and not moving much and the other had his mouth open crying for food. these bird’s eyes were closed, and no feathers only a little fuz. no mother bird in sight. we put them in the nest and put the nest in a box heated to 80-85 degrees F. i woke up every 2 hours that nite 2 feed them. larger one ate eagerly, smaller ate none till i picked him up & fed him. fed moist cat food and mushed up worms. Both survived the night. The next morning i fed them evry hour. kept in 80-85F.
so i tryed to call some wildlife reserves to see if they would take em in, but got no answer. e-mailed them, no answer. i decided to put thm back in the bush…. continued
…to see if the mother bird would come back. sat there for a 1/2 hour waiting for a bird to show up but none came. i had to go inside because it’s 87degreesF out there! right now the birds are sitting in the bush alone in the nest. they have some shade. I need advice on what to do next. Should I take the birds back inside? Should i leave them on the bush? plz give me advice I really need it. Don’t let these birds die! help me save them!!!! Answer now!
listen i’m not sure if the mother will come back. we found them last night and they were probably there for a while to start with! i don’t think the mother will come back! I just really don’t know whose advice to follow! keep them, or put them in the bush, keep them , or put them in the bush…. i decided to take them back in and feed them until my mom gets home and we can decide together. I really need answers from ppl who have done this before!

How do I take care of Budgie eggs.?

My pet budgie layed 2 eggs today. I’m not sure what time but I didn’t see them until after I ate dinner. There were two eggs on the cage floor, and my uncle put them in a boxed full of torn up tissue paper. The box is 3×3 inches, so its pretty small. The box is now in the corner of the bottom of the cage. We have very little experience on knowing how to take care of the eggs. Its out first time our budgie has ever layed any eggs. There are 4 budgies in the same cage. Will that be a problem? And should we get a nesting box? Was moving the eggs off the floor a good idea? It is already past midnight right now and I just checked the eggs. None of the birds are keeping them warm, and we aren’t aware of which bird is the one that layed the eggs. We don’t know which ones are the female/s or the male/s. As you can see, I’m desperately in need of help, and we have little experience. I should note that I’m not sure if both eggs were layed today. The cage is also outside in out backyard. Help Plz
