Getting pet birds to eat fruit?

We have a cockatiel that we recently adopted by virtue of its previous owners not wanting it anymore. I know that birds should be eating fresh fruits and veggies, but it seems that this little guy wants none of it. I’ve tried hand feeding it, and it seems scared of what I’m offering. I’ve tried leaving it in its cage and it wants nothing to do with it. Our other bird loves fruit, but this one just doesn’t seem interested. Any advice?

any experts in bird hand feeding?

i bought a young cag who was still being handfed by his breeder. he is 3 months old and on 3 feedings. the bastard breeder told me he has a family emergency and was leaving the state inmediately, so i either took my bird and learned to handfeed or waited till he settled and he would return half my money. needless to say i took my baby home and im handfeeding him as i was instructed, when he is full he wipes his beak, refuses food and flies away to his cage(which im quite impressed by) or sometimes i put him back, but not too long has passed and he cries for us, is he still hungry or what is it? i also give him fuits, veggies, cheerios and millet spray which he squashes and sort of eats, but why does he still cry? it breaks my heart to hear him and i never refuse him food. we all kiss and play with him, what should i do for him? the breeder actually did leave, but i dont want to see my baby cry. thanks for any help.
he hasnt lost weight, he is not lethargic he actually will fly to us if in the mood. his crop is full also, but how do i cut the middle feeding? wont he cry more? i was told not to refuse him food, so how do i wean him? im not frustrated but afraid for him. he seems well, i have had him 1 week and so far so good. he is sweet and friendly even to the kids, our only issue is that he likes climbing heads-lol- he loves to be on top of his cage, but it just scares me when he cries so much. my hats off to all you handfeeders, it certainly takes ba11s to do this.

How do I get rid of foxes??

Because I feed birds, I also have a number of squirrels in my backyard as well. The local foxes have figured this out, and have began feasting on the squirrels. Short of stopping the feeding of birds, is there any way to get rid of the foxes? I have a dog, and I know that foxes can carry scabies. Thanks

Hand feeding baby Cockatiel or parents feeding?

I had purchased a breeding pair of tiels from someone recently. Apparently they gave them a few chicks and are very good parents when it comes raising the babies. I have put them in a separate room with little traffic and noise and plenty of sunshine etc.. I put in a nesting box and yesterday I saw them mating.
I was wondering when the eggs are hatched, do I have to hand feed the babies for them to be tame or could I let them take care of the babies and they end up just as tame as long as I keep interacting with them daily. The birds are friendly, but not as friendly as I would like….I understand they are still getting use to me and I am offering millet spray as a peace offering to them daily in hopes they get use to my hand. I had read somewhere though that its rare to have a friendly ‘pet’ bird and a breeding bird. It’s either one or the other. If I could have tame babies without hand feeding that would be great. (if its possible)
Thanks :)
Good suggestions guys. I will let the parents take care of the babies and just keep interacting with them daily. The babies health is most important as well as the parents! Hand tame or not, they are still lovely to watch and my boy even whistles pretty boy :)
