i had a post last night due to the bird feeling ill..i kept him warm and did what i could but he did not make it till the morning…this budgie was 9 yrs old..and was the healtheist of all of them…i went to a pet store and said that he may have had a cold…but he was feeding a mom of 7 budgies……i think he may have strained himself feeding her and them…what could have happend and why all of a sudden?
thanks for the answers…..i had another budgie that died 5 months ago but i had him for 11 yrs….this one that died was active….he flew a lot he had a lot of energy…i figured he had atleats 3 or so yrs to go….the mom seems to feedign the older ones more….the budgie did not eat anything out of the ordinary,,,,same diet same routine…im betting he got a cold..another question i have a baby budgie 2 months, that may have caught a cold..and seems to be “chocking..but he is eating and drinking..however he is calmer and i have put the cage in warmest part of the house.
ther was clicking the first day but now it has calmed and barely does it anymore….is ther somethign i could pick up at a petshop to treat this

explain this amazon behavior pls?

I have a male and female yellow nape amazons that i wold love to be on eggs. over last week the male seemed to be feeling frisky and he showed intrest in the nest box not the female i didnt think was feelling frisky she did alot of growling and pushing the male away when he attempted to get a leg up>they were doing allot of mutual preening and i was hoping maybe we were on the egg path. today the female climed to the highest branch she could get to and sat there. she came down right befor bedtime and had herself a little snack and the climbed herself right back up. He doesnt evern try to get up there with her and hes sleeping in one spot and her in another so what now . whats it mean, I didnt see a mating but my monitor only has good viewing up close but there were times when she was on her side for breif seconds. spring fever couldnt be over that quick could it .any advice on if the mood will return to my birds and how to help my female get rid of her “headach” thanks

how do I care for a baby wren fallen from the nest?

We had a feeling it would fall.We watched it go in and out of house and sure enough it fell into the wheelbarrow I placed under the house with a folded tarp inside to pad it’s fall.We tried putting it back without touching it but either it or it’s sibling has fallen and made it to the ground.
Mama bird has’nt been seen all day.Don’t know
how old they are but they have their wing and tail feathers rest of their body is down covered.
Mama bird made it back to nest every few minutes yesterday.Don’t know if it’s time for them to be on their own or if somethings happened to her.Need to know what to feed as this one’s obviously hungry and does’nt seem to care that we’re not birds.Have’nt touched it but it’s sitting inside a trash can on the back porch for it’s own safety at the moment chirping loudly.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Baby bird has fallen from nest — and i feel so sorry for it yet dont know what to do am feeling real guilty!

i have an outside lattice covered patio atop concrete slab that leads to our pool…… an hour ago, while picking up dog poo , i came upon a baby bird which had fallen from its nest made inside our latice covered patio… we tried to return it to its nest (using a dust pan so as not to touch the little guy) but it didnt work. so i found a box, shredded some paper for a nest and transfered it from dust pan to box and placed him in the planter. using a coffee grinder i ground some bird seed, added water & tried feeding it cuz it kept opening its mouth wide …. he got a little of my many attempts giving him food, then it looked like he wanted to go to sleep in the paper nest made for him. so i covered the box 3/4 of the way. Now what??? will he just die??? will mom return??? or should i start feeling guilty each time i hear a chirp.? i work, have other animals that need me & dont know what else to do? any suggestions????? help

Parakeets courting how can i discourage them from mating?

i have 3 parakeets.2male and one female.one of my males and my female are courting but i really don’t want my bird to have eggs and i have a feeling they are going to mate soon.i just really dont want extra responsibility because if she has eggs and they hatch then ill have to wait until they grow up and then ill have to find them the right owners and i just wanted to know what i can do to disourage her from having eggs.she trusts me alot like more then the males. they have a flight cage with alot of space and different types of perches they also have a few toys that they LOVE.she just turned one year.the male she is courting with i dont know the age of but hes over a year.i know that if they start mating i will buy them a nesting box with the proper equipment but is there anything i can do to discourage them.
