Need help on feeding a young finch bird.!!!?

My cat found a young bird, one of those small ones with brown feathers that are flying about constantly. About the same size as a Blue-tit. Anyway, couldn’t find the nest, so I put it in the bushes nearby for about 5hours to see what would happen. It was still there. Perfectly fine, sent me on a wild-goose’s chase trying to catch it. It drinks water from a small injection(without the needle), but I can’t seem to get it to swallow any food. Its got some feathers. but its quite scrawny and either one of its wings or legs is wonky so it can’t really fly very well. I don’t know how old, but I would say its in the ‘teenager’ age… So what do i do now? I have it in a small box with sawdust cuttings, some food in a tiny bowl… and it keeps trying to get out. But I have cats everywhere, and if it can’t fly, it sure as hell can’t defend itself against a cat. Any tips what to do now? please!
if I put it in a tree – won’t it fall and seriously hurt itself again? it’s not flying or flapping its wings…
and barely claws at anything just pecks me…

I found a baby bird and it’s been doing fine for half a day but I still feel like I need help?

By the way it’s doing fine in my house and I’ve been feeding it bread dipped in milk. I don’t know what kind of bird it is but now it barely has feathers so I don’t think it was fledging. I would have let the parents have more time to look for the baby (since the was no birds flying around in the area) but there was a storm coming up and I took it in when I felt rain drops. Also, heard giving it water was bad for a baby bird it that true and if it is good thing i didnt give it water

What do I do with this baby Sparrow who’s top beak is completely broken off??

I have a baby Sparrow who tried to fly the nest and flew right into a window and broke its top beak completely off. The nest was way too high up so I couldn’t put it back. At first it went into shock and a couple hours later after the blood cleared it was doing fine. It can breathe fine out of its nostrils and it will not stop chirping (I think because it is hungry?) but I really cannot feed it anything since it has no top beak. What should I do? I called the vet and they said they could put it to sleep humanely but is there any way an animal rescue can help this bird survive?

Update: Thank you everyone for your answers and insight. Unfortunately, it passed away earlier today.

need help with a quaker parrot?

I’m watching my friends Quacker for the summer. She’s a very friendly bird around Mike, and was fine around me when he was near. But now that she has been relocated to my place she’s becoming impossible. I can’t reach into her cage to change her food or water. When I do, she charges at my fingers. I’ve already been bittin a couple of times. she has clamp coop cups so I have to reach in her cage to feed her. She’s smart and figures out how to undo her toys from the cage, so they just fall to floor. When I try to pick them up and replace them, once again my hands are her target. I’ve tried letting her out ontop of her cage to distract her so I can get her food/water/toys. I’ve had little success. She starts flying around the room, running into stuff (he doesn’t clip her wings) Then I have trouble getting her back into her cage, or she sees what I’m doing and comes back in. My friend is doing an internship in a remote area with no service so contact is not possible. any suggestions?

Female budgie is chasing male out of nest box. Should I remove one of the parents?

I have two pairs of budgies in cages side by side, with a nest box in each of them. Both females laid no fewer than seven eggs. The first pair seem to be doing fine and getting the hang of feeding and protecting their young, and five of their babies have already hatched. The male is as crazy about the female as when they were mating, and she seems to relish the attention and care.

The second pair mated with mutual enthusiasm and the female seemed very willing and receptive. The male was very supportive to her and even helped set on the eggs. They now have four baby birds that have hatched. However, since the babies have started to hatch, it seems that the female has turned on the male. I watched him a couple of times with the babies, and I did not detect that he was too rough or anything; in fact, he would seek out their mouths to feed them. He has been very faithful in trying to feed his hen and their young. However, I have witnessed on probably several dozen occasions now how the female tries to keep him out of the box, or if he does get in, they seem to quarrel. I saw him “scolding” her a few times inside the box when she tried pecking him out, and he managed to hold his own at least for the time being. More often than not, though, all of a sudden I’ll hear “quarreling” followed by an angry screech and he exits that nest box like he’s been shot from a cannon. I can only surmise that she is giving him some nasty pecks.

I am concerned that he will get seriously hurt and that I should remove him for his own protection. But then, where does that leave the babies? I don’t want the babies to suffer for his absence. I’ve even wondered if I should remove the hen and let him care for the babies. It’s like all of a sudden mama bird can’t stand daddy bird, who seems very sweet and caring. Any constructive advice on this issue will be very welcome. Thanks in advance!

My cat lost his voice, is there anything I should do?

My 8 year old cat (Sammy) lost his voice. He was fine on Sunday; monday morning his meow sounded scratchy, then today (Tuesday), he had no voice. He tries to meow but can’t.

*this is a very vocal cat; we can not usually get him to be quiet (ex- him meowing to go outside or chattering at the birds). He has been drinking a lot of water lately. We did schedule a vet appointment for Saturday. Anything we can do until then (ex- feed him wet food)?
