Breeding cages or nest boxes in flight area ?

Can anyone advise me on which is best,
1) nest boxes in the flight area allowing my 2 sets of birds to just have a “free for all” attitude or
2) put them 2 sets into their own private breeding cage and let them get on with it.
I have had 2 answers from bird loving friends but one said colony breeding with nest boxes and the other said hand picked certain birds in private quarters. I am so confused now HELP…

Hi! Is it possible to breed 2 cockatiles and 2 parakeets in a very large cage?

It’s almost a flight cage. I’m going to get the birds today or tomorrow and I already have the cage. I was going to put the nesting boxes in the far corner. Anways, they should get along right. Thanks for advice.

ANOTHER COCKATEIL question.,, it’s important.?

I have 2 cockateils, one is yellow with orange cheeks, she IS a female. I know she has layed eggs before. But I have recently bought another. I have NO idea is it’s male or female,, it’s only 12 weeks old. it’s grey and white. I have a flight cage.(VERY LARGE) . My question is, should I have a nesting box in the cage at all times? if so I will provide her with the proper nesting tools, such as aspen, or paper. what happens when thers no place to lay eggs? she can’t get to the paper, because of the bottom of the cage is (IS A CAGE) will she just lay them anyway?….will she get sick, if she has eggs in her, and can’t lay them? or will she just NOT have eggs? I’m not into breeding, I just want her to feel comfy in her new home is all. the yellow cockateil,(sunny) was neglected and abused for a VERY long time. and I just want to help her be a happy bird again.
also , are there different species of cockateils?

Macaw Breeder Wine Barrel nest boxes (Part 1)

The wood insulates the eggs alot better and does not heat up and cool like metal does. Yes I do have to treat the barrels and clean the insides from toxins. I may take the barrels apart and sand the interior down to freah wood. Here is the link: www.kingbarrel.com/1822.html
