how do i get my cockatiels to enter a nest box?

i tried using food, i tried placing her egg in there and put her in there as well as the father. each bird just panics and runs out. they dont even look at it to explore it. she layed an egg on the floor. sat on it fo r2 days and now just left it there. i tried using a tupperware top with bedding and placed the egg in there but still no attempt to revisit the egg. the egg is a fertile one.

I have a male cockatiel age 7 years and a female 9 months.?

Last week the young female laid an egg on the floor of the cage. I bought a nesting box, attached it to the cage, and with a paper towel moved the egg into the box on soft material purchased with the box. I do not see either of the birds sitting on the eggs or even going into the box. Today I found another egg on the cage floor and moved it into the box as before.
I would like to have a baby cockatiel. Am I doing things correctly? If not, how should I proceed?

Is my bird dying? She is sitting oddly on her eggs.?

My lovebird layed 3 eggs. she does not have a mate or a nest box. She is sitting on the eggs with her head on floor of the cage, her wings slightly unfurled and her butt slightly raised. She did not do this the last time she laid eggs. Should I take the eggs out? IS she eggbound?

Fun things for rat cages?

Hey! I’m getting two rats in a couple of days and I’m getting their cage ready for them. And I want to put some fun things in there so they wont get bored. What are some fun things I can use? So far I have a bird ladder to reach to the 2nd floor that I made which has a hammock up there so they can sleep. And I have a nesting box with a soft bed inside of that. And I have a rope that they can climb. What else can I use?

Why is our male cockatiel so possesive over a cardboard box?

Our male cockatiel is about 9 yrs. old and he loves to explore in dark places. I took a 8 x 8 cardboard box and cut a hole in it and placed it on the floor. When I take him out to play and run around he has become so possessive over this box. He attacks you and screams if you come near it. He loves to go into and just pecks away at the cardboard and will come out in his own good time but refuses to allow anyone around it. He is an only bird, there is no mate. Are we confusing him into thinking this is a nest?

Do I move the baby birds back to the nest?

I have baby birds in a nest in my garage. They are in a box. I went out this morning and found one of them still alive on my garage floor. Do I pick it up with a piece of paper and put it back or just let it die? I want it to live my kids listen for them every morning. Help
I didn’t notice that there was a stray cat in my garage (its open to the outside) and by the time I got back out to check on the baby (five minutes) The cat had eaten it or done something with it. :(
The nest is in the box. I didnt even know it was there until recently when my 2 year old heard them. I do not even own a cat and have no idea where it came from and sat outside till it started raining to make sure that it didnt come back for the others.
