Crazy Squirrel In Our Bird Feeder

I have two African Grey Parrots that starting to mate again?

I need information on the measurements for a nesting box. They have bred before and usually lay 3 eggs each time. I just inherited these great birds. Any info would be great, food desires and toy info would help as well. I want to keep them happy
I do know how to take care of Birds I just haven’t experienced Greys beore. I know the breeding process and how to handle and hand feed babies. I just needed specifics. I wnat them to be happy. IF making babies makes them happy then so be it.

My boyfriend’s African Grey Parrot is OBSESSED with me! Why?

I’m just curious if anyone has any idea why. I moved in with my boyfriend and his lovely African Grey a while ago. The Parrot is about 16 years old and is a really nice bird but a while after I moved in he started trying to feed me (regurgitating his food for me), he’ll climb off my boyfriend and try to get to me whenever I’m around and I can get away with handling him and petting him in ways my boyfriend would get bit for! I’ve never had a parrot before and my boyfriend says the bird’s never acted this way around anyone before. Does he just have the hots for me or something? I didn’t do anything special to get all this love from him.
he’s a great talker and i really do love him to death. i’m just curious why he’s in love with me all of a sudden. :) i cherish his silly little birdy luv.

HELP!!!!!!!! MY PARAKEET JUST LAYED AN EGG?

Okay, so, I have 3 birds. 1 male(Neptune) and 2 Females (Grey and Lorelai). Lorelai has a tumor on her wing, so we removed her from the cage 4 days ago. Well, I cover my birds at night. Last night, when I covered Neptune and Grey up, they were both cleaning the bottom of the cage. Well, then, I woke up in the morning, and there was an egg at the bottom of the cage! Neptune and Grey were hanging at the top of the cage. I was able to put my hand in, in order to move the egg, and it felt cold. I made a nest really fast out of a small basket with some cotton balls in the bottom. Both of the birds have been down, tending to the nest. I believe that Grey buried the egg, because it is no longer visible. I am going to the pet store later to get a nesting box. But, what are the chances that this first egg will live? I know that Grey will probably lay atleast 1 more egg. And what should I get for the nest? I was able to run to Dollar General real fast, and I got some millet sprays and a couple of treat bars. They are on a diet of seeds and they have carrots in a little cup, too. Please help me!

African Grey Parrots?

I have a breeder pair of Greys. I blocked off their nest box in Jan 09 because I was going to England for an extended stay. They have raised me some wonderful babies. Now they won’t breed. I allowed them back into their box for a year now. I have tried every trick that I know and haven’t had any luck.

They are a wild caught pair from the Congo. The almost never come out of their box when I am in the bird building. Then the came out of their box for about three weeks. I hadn’t seen them out in their cage that much since I bought them six years ago. Then they went back to their regular routine. They have finished up their moult and still nothing. I have sixteen pair of Amazons and almost every pair either has eggs or working the box.

Please serious answers only!
Pets r Wild.

I didn’t ask for your opinion on the origination of my parrots. Go hug a d*mn tree somewhere.
I am a responsible breeder who takes much better care of my birds than the average person who keeps a pet parrot.

I feed fresh fruits and veggies every day. I give Nekton supplements. My birds are fed a pelleted diet by Zupreem. They are vet checked once a year. They are on a regular regimen for worms. The person who took care of my birds is a very good bird person.

I have averaged raising 36 parrots a season for the last four years. I not concerned with illness in my parrots. I have read where they will stop breeding for several years only to take back up. My birds have been in captivity for 16 years. (documented) They raised big healthy babies in the past. ????????

Cockatiel Pair: Need Help With A Decision?

Recently, my pair of cockatiels just laid two eggs, and we are expecting another one tonight (11/06/08), since every other night Grey Grey has laid her eggs, and she has verly large and smelly droppings, and a egg shaped vent. And she has been doing very well with the eggs! Along with her mate and the father of the chicks, Diablo.

But the problem is, Diablo is over-protective. It is a good trait in parents, I understand that, but this is goes way too far. Whenever Grey Grey leaves to drink or eat, or say hello to us, Diablo takes over the sitting. Which is good, but, Diablo won’t let Grey Grey into the nest box! He stampedes out of the nest box and attacks her by biting her in various places, trying to attack her, and trying to attack us to get to her when we are holding Grey Grey. And he keeps trying to mate with her, so we separate them at that time. Grey Grey likes to be picked up, and comes to us, so we don’t really interfere with the eggs. But still, he won’t let Grey Grey in at all, to lay or incubate the eggs.

We have a spare cage for any of our birds (cockatiels/parakeets), if a problem occurs, and Diablo is currently staying in there while Grey Grey is incubating and doing the motherly roll. And Diablo gets a little mad at first, but he is settled down and Grey Grey is sitting in the cage as we speak.

My question is, should we keep Diablo separated from her permanently? Grey Grey is doing a fine job of taking care of the eggs, but I was wondering. And I was reading, and I read that cockatiel eggs can stay viable for seven days, and the maximum time she is gone is about five minutes, and it is room temperature around their cage. But still, my question stands, should we separate Diablo from the mother and eggs? If so, can Grey Grey fully take care of the eggs on her own? We are pulling the chicks at two weeks of age, if that matters.

FIRST EGG- Laid Monday, November Third, 2008 at night. Due to hatch in sixteen to nineteen days.

SECOND EGG- Laid Wednesday, November Fifth, 2008 at night. Due to hatch is seventeen to twenty days.

We are expecting a third egg, and we are goig to candle them in about a week to see if we have fertile eggs.

Hello, I would just like to clarify, he is attacking her! She is afraid to even go into the cage! But I was wondering, would she be capable if she was left to do her job alone? And should we separate them? I am not experienced with this, as this was my first time and accident, but I have done my research. I was wondering (from experienced breeders!) if this would be okay?
