What do you feed a 1 day old baby bird that doesn’t have a family or home?

my mom found a baby pink bird in our backyard near the patio. there is no mother or nest or anything. this has happened before last year a Baby Pink bird was pushed out of the nest. i put the Baby bird in a cardboard box with some grass and nesting stuff from my hamster. the baby bird is pink and almost transparent, also it’s eyes are not open. he keeps lifting his head up and opening his mouth(or gaping) i believe he’s hungry but i dont know what to feed him.don’tont have any worms? what should i do? i dont want him to die?

hamsters and rabbit food?

I was just wondering if hamsters could eat rabbit pellets. My friend told me that she feeds her hamster pumpkin seeds, rabbit pellets, bird seeds and nutritional yeast (a stress reducer). Is this actually a healthy diet for hamsters?

What to do with a wild baby bird?

A few hours ago, I heard birds chirping really loud, i went outside to see what was up and saw 2 birds looking directly at a bush, i looked at the bush and was suprised to a baby bird, based on what I saw I assumed the bird fell out of its nest ( the nest was on the roof of my house, i know because ocasionally i’d see those 2 birds fly up there ) and the 2 birds are trying to figure how to get the baby back up there, i felt real bad for the bird but went back inside, about 2 hours later i noticed there wasnt any more chirping outside, so i went outside and couldn’t find those 2 birds anywhere but I did find the baby bird still in the bush, i didnt know wat to do, if i left it inside the bush it was likely to be cat food. I thought for a while about what to do… I got a shoe box with 2 holes in it, some hamster bedding, and then put the hamster bedding inside the box, i then went to the sink got a really really small glass bowl ( small enough so the bird could drink out of it ) and filled it with water, I picked up the bird and put it in the shoe box, brought the box inside my house and now here i am, I tryd to spoon feed it water ( well i guess i mean spoon drink it ) but it wouldn’t take it, it just sits there all scared and shakey, if i put my hand over the box it’ll pull its head back into its body and its wings will come towards my hand just a little bit. I have no clue what to do, I’m probably gonna take it to an animal shelter. What to do??
I just read recently on a website that a baby bird outside of its nest is considered a fledgling, falling out of its nest on purpose to keep away from predators like hawks or climbing cats and being fed by their parents who will soon come back and keep feeding it for a few weeks until it is able to hunt for food its self and be on its own… i feel ive done the wrong thing. I also read that once human hands have touched it, the parents will never accept it again. Is any of this misleading information? Should I tomorrow take it to a shelter, or bring it back to the bush where it could still be cat food?
to first poster: I can’t put it back in its nest, its to far up on my house and I can’t get a ladder to climb.

Is it ok to feed a hamster assorted bird seed?

I supplement her diet with nuts, vegetables and fruit (lettuce, celery, grapes, apples) and even some cat food since I’ve read that hamsters are NOT vegetarians. Is all this enough or do I absolutely have to buy hamster food?

URGENT! BLEEDING RAT, looks like he got into come ravoli sauce, only on the outside of his nose, like a ring.?

my pet rat, when i picked him up today, he has been sneezing ever since i got him, which is about 1.8 days, and untill now, i looked at his nose, it looks like blood, but he never gets into fights or even playfights with his brother, from what i understand, they are about 2 or more years, more being 2.2 years old, and thier cage was constantly neglected by the 10 year old who owned him, the previous owner wasnt too intellegent with her pets, nice and all, but just didnt know alot about them, i think her bird died because it loved chocolate too much, they havent been to the vet yet, so if anyone knows a good vet in the US, ontario, california aeria and how much it might cots to get them looked at, PLEASE REPLY. i just cleaned out thier cage, and its a 10gal fish tank with a wierd mashed cardbord like bedding, mostly like recycled paper, and it has a ramp that leads to a cage above, i havent had time to get to the pet store, something came up, so i had to feed them hamster food. help.
also, is it safe to give them un-sweetend cherios, the plain brand to a pet rat? how many is safe?
thank you, ill take him to a vet, ill to some research now, see if i can find exotic pet vet, i dont care howmuch it costs, alsong as its a reasonable price, i think bobby’s vet does small animals.

also, he squirms when i try to pick him up, its soo sad hes old, the lady only wanted $25, and that in its own pays for the cage, and the rats, but i had to lie, we were really low on gas, and didnt have enough to get home. anyone know whare i can go about actuall hand handeling the rats, they might be too old for it, ill pickout the sunflower seeds and go first thing in the morning to get the food

the ASPCA personally asked me to write this book through my own rodent knowlege. I have had rodents since i was four. It was a little hamster, then she had babies. Ovwe my lifetime of keeping rodents as pets, i have had over 300 in the past 18 1/2 years. I have learned almost everything about rodents, and i work with the ASPCA, and i am a vet-in-training. most of my closest friends call me the “Hammie Girl, Rat-a-tat, or Chinnie-chin-chilla Crazy” my book is totally going to be real, the ASPCA says. They asked me two and a half weeks ago and i’m almost finished! All i need is the pictures. So, if you love your rodent, you shouls let they get their year in “Rodent Hollywood” thanks a bunch,
