there is a seabird that steals baby birds for it’s food. What is it?

This bird appears to be black in color, or at least very dark. It has a hawks bill used for snatching little hatchlings right out from underneath the mother. It feeds off of another seabird, although I do not believe it is a seagull. Hunts very fast, so that before the mother knows whats happening, it has made off with her baby. I saw this on the Animal Planet during the airing of one their “Most Extreme” episodes. Any idea?

Some Cardinal Chicks Being Fed

A pair of bright orange-ish red cardinals have taken up residence in a rose bush just to the side of our tool shed in our back yard. This morning I was taking out some trash when I heard a bunch of chirping racket. When I took a look, I was surprised to see a nest with 3 to 4 chicks in it, their mouths gaping, begging for a feeding. I figured the mama wouldn’t come back around unless I wasn’t around, so I set up a camera on a tripod next to their nest, and set it to record them on video. I got some great footage of both the daddy and the mama birds feeding the chicks. If I can get the video exported correctly, I’ll put it up on YouTube. To me, it’s very relaxing to watch. Baby birds are definitely one of those few rare things that are both ugly and cute simultaneously.

Does anyone know how to care for baby birds? Theres a nest outside my door and the mother abandoned it…?

There are four baby sparrows outside my front door, the mother stopped coming back to the nest about days ago, I’m worried that the hatchlings will die, I think they are about a week old, what should i feed them and how?

Parakeet Breeding Information?

i used to have 3 parakeets bought from the pet store, but recently one of my parakeets keeps laying eggs and they hatch into little baby parakeets. currently i have 6 parakeets and i read that the female parakeet will keep on laying eggs. i’m not sure if i will have enough space to keep anymore new hatchlings, so is there any way to stop the female from laying eggs. or if i would want to start breeding and selling the birds, how would i do that? what would i need to do to get started? etc.

also: why does the male parakeet keep pushing the eggs out of the nesting box? he has already done that to at least 5 of the eggs the female laid and broken all of them. after that i separated the female from all the other birds. but i was wondering why the push the eggs out of the box?

How To Feed a Baby Bird

Baby birds sometimes fall from their nests, and sometimes are knocked out by storms or other natural causes. If you find a baby bird, here’s how to feed it.
