I have two lovebirds that I “rescued” and am still new to them. Yesterday I found two eggs at the bottom of the cage (I had not put any nesting material or nesting box in the cage yet). Neither of the birds were sitting on them. I came home today and now there is a third egg and one of them is sitting on them. Is it too late to introduce a nesting box and nesting materials? If not, can I use shredded newspaper or tissue or do I have to have the stuff from the pet store? Should I feed them anything special? Also, does anyone know if the male sits on the eggs because the one that is sitting on the eggs is the one I was told was a male. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you.
