The mom is alive but just lays with the eggs. We have seen the male go in the vent (we assume to feed her) but we can’t have the nest in the vent. I don’t know if there is a place that I can take them for a rescue, or what to feed her….. I just don’t want to let them die.
In Oregon it is legal to remove the nests of house sparrows, by the way. And I know how to secure it after they are out- that is not my question.
ok i was in Greely, Colorado the other day and a mother black bird was kicking her baby otu of the nest repeatedly after we put it back in the nest. So i brought it back to my house, Peyton, Colorado and it did fine. That is until about 2 days after ive had it here, it was eating and jumping around and stuff but then today i came in to feed again (eggs scrambled and finley smashed up with water and some baby formula) and it was laying on its side (this morning i noticed it had stopped chirping completley and was only making a weasing noise) i had no idea what to do so i hopped on the internet and tryed to find what i should dom and found nothing. He died about 15 minutes after i had seen him on his side. He was about 2-3 weeks old only had a few feathers and pink still showing, I would like to know why this happened. I beleive it could have been a respitory problem judging by the loss of chirping, but i had a heat lamp over him. *This was a BlackBird by the way* ANY ADVICE NEEDED!

DX a bird with a broken wing was found inside out house next to our open Winter. It is a fledgling which means it is big enough to hop around. We put it in a box to high for it to hop out of. Hr covered the bottom of the box with some cotton, wool hats and some torn up newspaper. I gave it a worm after cutting it in half and gave it some crunched up pieces of apple and some pieces of black berries. We read to put it next to the nest but we don’t know where that is and we think cats might get to it…: gonk AND CUTE THINGS CANT DIE!…although it seems to be very alive so far.
-,-….it’s not that bloody bad..and I wrote it really fast because I needed an answer right away…and like I said it will be hard to put it outside because there are alot of cats around.

I was on a bike ride and then I see the poor little guy in the middle of the street. He is now in my house and he seems healthy and in great shape. Who should I contact? What should I feed him until then? Where should he stay? I have no idea where his nest is because he was found in the road.
Thanks!
By the way it’s doing fine in my house and I’ve been feeding it bread dipped in milk. I don’t know what kind of bird it is but now it barely has feathers so I don’t think it was fledging. I would have let the parents have more time to look for the baby (since the was no birds flying around in the area) but there was a storm coming up and I took it in when I felt rain drops. Also, heard giving it water was bad for a baby bird it that true and if it is good thing i didnt give it water
