My cockatiels laid 7 eggs and was wondering if someone could answer some questions?

I have been researching a lot from books and the internet but they don’t always answer everything. For instance, my birds first laid an egg on the cage floor because I didn’t have a nest box. I read that if you get it in a box right away that it may still hatch. I did do this. Also, two of the eggs had slight cracks and I covered them with light nail polish and a topcoat nail polish and let it dry. The birds DID NOT reject those eggs. Could they still hatch? I had read that advice in a book and on the internet. I think if I see another though, I’m just going to leave it because they get so upset and protective when I go in the box. Is it completely normal for them to try to attack you when you even try to change their food and water? I have been giving them their normal Cockatiel mix of mostly seeds, Spray Millet (which they love), egg biscuits, cuttlebone, a fruit flavored mineral block with extra calcium!, and a special mix that is for nesting birds. Any advice? THANKS!
A few more things. I ran out of space. Why can’t they allow more space for questions??? My male is four and is a white face with lots of grey and my female is two and is also a white face but almost totally white. Will the babies most likely be white faced as well? Is it possible to hand-raise a couple and let Mom and Dad take care of the rest? How old should I start hand raising? I will research a lot about it before attempting, don’t worry. This is their first clutch (is that the right word?) so what are the odds of atleast a few making it? And if the babies make it, at what age do you sell them and what is a fair price (esp. for whitefaces which aren’t as common as greys which most people are used to)? I would love to get two more pairs of ‘tiels if all goes well and I can find a pet shop that’ll take the babies. I would esp. like a Lutino. What would be cool to pair a Lutino with? THANKS FOR ANSWERING AS MANY Q’S AS YOU COULD! Wish me and my ‘tiels luck!

Ok i took a small bird home, im pretty sure its gonna die based on what ive read on the internet, any suggest?

Ok first off i KNOW i made a mistake, but hindsight is 20/20 right? I live in the desert, and near school in the street i found a small wild bird, its defenitely a fledgeling. When i found it yesterday afternoon it wasnt moving but now it seems better. Everywebsite says, “leave the bird there, it was learning to fly and the parents were around to feed it for a few days until it took off” Ok so i should have put it in a nearby tree or something, but i didnt, so now what?I have been keeping it warm and dry, and feeding it occasionally with a medecine dropper. I have been feeding it sugar water or fruit punch mixed with corn meal (yes i know fruit punch probably isnt what it normally eats.) Its moving around very well now, and I am considering putting it in the backyard as we have several bird feeders w/50 or more wild birds flying around so he/she can learn to fly.1) will the other birds feed it? 2) Is it too late to take it back where i got it?3)any suggestions? No i dont want to keep it
Thanks for the help so far all, I took it to the local petstore and the didnt want anything to do with it, i will try to find some type of bird orginization on monday as it is now the weekend. The bird is looking much healthier now and I am still feeding it sugar water mixed with cornmeal. It actually recognizes the medecine dropper now, which is good and bad i guess. It eats alot but i dont want it to become dependant as i am not going to keep it for long. It opens its mouth wide when it sees me with the dropper, and after one dropper full it usually doesnt want any more (full?) I put it outside for a few hours at a time near the other birds and some of the birds are the same species as it. They seem to only eat seeds so i think im ok w/o nightcrawlers as all birds do not eat bugs. so if it makes it thru the weekend I will bring it to a bird shelter of some sort. I have seen several people suggest milk, but isnt it only mammals (and bacteria) who have enzymes for digesting lactose?
Thank you everyone for your help. The bird died this morning (big suprise) and oddly i was very sad, probably because i was directly responsible. anyways 90 percent of the answers were right on, but the stock answer to almost any health related question is “go see a professional” so well pick one that went further, thanks again all.

Is it ok to feed my budgie cuttlebone while shes in the nesting box?

I bought a budgie off the internet a while back for only ten dollars. when i went to pick her up, she ws kept in a tiny cage with no cuttle bone or vegges, just food and water. the cage also had NO perches or toys! i felt horrible for her and i was happy that i got to take her home with me where she was put in a huge cage with a male budgie. shes not sick, or carrying mites, as i had her checked out by the vet.
but ive always thought she was a male until recently when she laid eggs! her cere was white, with blue around the edges, and because of the blue i thought she must be a male.
any way, sorry for rambling, i read that a white cere meens there not in breeding condition, and so im worried about her. i want to make sure she has enough calcium in her system and the only way i can make sure she gets it is bye opening the top of the nesting box and holding the cuttlebone while she eats it.
it doesnt seem to upset her, and she happily nibbles on it, but i wanted to know if this is considered a bad thing to do? is it bad that i put my hand in the box while shes sitting on her eggs and feeding her?
i know budgies hide illness well and i caught her sneezing, but there was no discharge so i hope thats ok?
she laid 5 eggs that are all fertile, but she threw one out of the nest the other morning and im not sure why :S shes a first time mother, but she seems to be taking the roll very seriously so im confussed as to why she would do that?
also theres a third bird in the cage whose to young to sex, would he/she be responsible for the egg being thrown out of the cage? even though i dont think it would be able to get anywhere near the box as the male is gaurding it well.
also, is it normal for the male to be more aggressive towards me while hes gaurding the nest box?
thanks for any answers, and i dont need anymore information except for the qwestions i asked because ive read alot, and know almost everything i think i need to know regarding breeding.
thank you for that answer, but i do hang the suttlebone and she never eats it on her own, only when i feed her :S

How to take care of a baby bird?

I found a baby bird who fell from his nest (way to high for me to put him back in) and I followed a recipe I found on Internet on how to feed him (boiled meet, grains, baby formula = blended) and I use a eye drop bottle to put it in his beak (it works great). Obviously after 3 days he’s trying to get out the big box I put him in. I don’t know how he will do out on his own (food wise). Do you think the SPCA will take him? (I call but they don’t answer) Thanks!
