i called it Grimace cause its huge yellow grin :P

ive raised baby budgies all my life and looked after many wild birds but not this one!!!!
i WILL be taking it to a carer today but they arent open for another 2 hours…ive got him in my old nesting box with sheddings andi chucked some woolen bedding pads around him so hes nice and warm and in dark. but hes next to me chirping away so please advice asap!!!
oh also…i will NOT be returning him where he came from…i have always in the past and the mothers come back =) but Grimace (lol) was in the middle of the lawn and there are no trees around it till about 10m out (and they are pines) so not nesting trees…plus my 3 cats are outside…no idea how he got there!

Mowing grass and killing creatures?

I was mowing the lawn yesterday and a darling little frog jumped on my leg…
I feed birds..make frog houses in the gardens…have bird and butterfly baths…I try to be very earth friendly…
Yet now I feel like Charles Manson…crickets, frogs…oh my~~~
Does any one know how I can prevent being a killer…I have to mow the grass…
Or how many “creatures” I am slaughtering on an acre of land…????

baby birds?

We found a baby bird out on the lawn and everytime I threw bread out it’d open it’s beak. I didn’t give it any. There are no trees around, but two adult birds but we can’t tell if they’re the parents because they won’t feed it. It ran across the road so my brother led it over there safely but it tried coming back to our side. W e put it back on the other side and all it does is sit there and chirp chirp chirp. What should I do, the adult birds are gone, i’m afraid it’ll get runover or starve.

what do i feed a wild baby cardinal?

i had a nest of 3 baby cardinals in my backyard. the nest collapsed in some bad weather. the 3 baby birds scattered across our lawn. one died of indigestion problems. the other is alive and being fed by the mother cardinal. but the last one is hidden in the bushes and the mother has not spotted it and has not fed it. we know not to touch the baby bird. but we know that its starving and needs to be fed. what should we do?
*please do not answer this question if u are at all unsure of your answer* **thank u**

Lawn Care : How to Keep Squirrels Off a Bird Feeder

Common techniques for keeping squirrels off of a bird feeder include greasing the bird feeder support pole or wrapping tin foil around the pole. However, these techniques may not work, so just let the squirrel at the bird feeder because it spreads the feed on the ground where the birds can get at it more easily. Learn about suggestions for coping with squirrels eating bird feed in thisfree video on lawn care from a landscaping professional.
