What shall I do with this little bird?

I rescued a little bird from my cat this morning. I think it’s probably a baby sparrow that’s been learning to fly (I think the nests in the guttering near my roof). When I first rescued it I wrapped it in a blanket, put it in a box with a warm hot water bottle near it in the box. It just lay there for about an hour and I thought it would die (but at least it was warm and comfy rather than killed by a cat) but when I checked on it it had hopped out the blanket and was sitting on the hot water bottle!! It’s been 5 hours now and It’s still alive and on a re-warmed hot water bottle but I think it’s wing might be broken as it making no attempt to fly when i try to get it to go. I don’t want to sit it on a high roof if it can’t fly just for another cat to get it or it injures itself anymore- what shall I do? I didn’t want to spend my day off looking after this bird but I can’t just leave it!!!!

I found a bird, help?

I was outside trying to get the coffee cup that rolled under my car when I noticed a little bird. I thought it was odd that she didn’t fly away, and soon discovered that she was unable to fly. She can flap her wings, but she can’t get more than two feet off the ground, and not for more than a few seconds. I couldn’t find a nest nearby, so I brought her in the house. She’s in a box with some water. I’m unsure of what to do in order to take care of her, does anyone have suggestions on what I could do to take care of her, or a place I could take here where she could be properly cared for?

How do you keep a stranded baby bird alive?

A bird made a nest in our garage. Since I noticed the bird in there I have been leaving the back garage door open so it could come in and out. Today I walked in the garage and saw a baby bird laying dead on the floor. I decided to get a chair to see if there were any more babies in the nest (I had never gotten anywhere near the nest prior to this because I no birds will abandon them if you do). There wasn’t a bird in the nest but the last one had crawled out of it’s nest and was about to fall to it’s death like it’s sibling so I decided to bring it inside. My kids went down to the store and got some night crawlers (worms). We cut four small pieces off of one of the worms and the little bird gobbled them right up. What about water? Do baby birds drink water or do they get that from the worms? Am I waisting my time trying to save the bird? I took the birds nest and placed it in a box and that is where the little bird is right now. That will have to work until I can figure out something else. Any ideas? How do I keep it alive until it is old enough to go free. Right now it can hardly move around or open it’s eyes. No feathers either!

Just adopted 2 sugar gliders!! need help please!!!!!?

My husband and I just adopted 2 cute little sugar gliders! One girl and one boy, they are almost a year old. They came from below standard living conditions, they’re cage was a very tiny little bird cage and they were never really taken out. They were only fed quiko sugar glider food and thats about it. Even though they werent played with they are somewhat tame and eat fruit out of our hands and don’t crab too much. I just wanted to ask the experianced glider mommy and dadys out there afew questions;
1.The cage smells awful!Theyre poo is caked to the side of the cage, we can’t seem to get it off.Whats a safe way to clean it?
2.Is the quicko food ok?What else should we feed them, when and how much?
3.We had them out of their cage last night and they would climb on our hands and bite us.They even drew blood on my thumb. How do we bond w/older gliders and will they always bite people they don’t know?
4.What do u recomend as a cage liner? They were using kitty liter.
Thanks!!

I have a baby Parakeet. About 10 weeks old. He will step up but will not stay on my finger.?

How do I train him to stay on my finger? I feed him mullet when he does what I want him to do. If I take him in the bathroom where he has no choice, he will stay on my finger and he likes to look at himself in the mirror. As soon as I leave the room OFF he goes. I am gone at work all day. I know he is happy because he squeeks and chirps alot. What can I do to make him not be afraid of me? I love my little bird and I don’t want him to be afraid of me.
wings are cliped and I leave cage door open so he can explore..This is his home too….
I leave his cage door open and he knows how to get out and go in…He will come out on his own..He trusts me more then my friend….He knows that I wont hurt him but he is still cautious…Maybe I am expecting too much too soon…I bird sit much larger birds like Parrots and Macaws..but parakeets are just as smart…..Most of the birds I am used to are already trained and 10 yrs old or more…..I dond want to scare him….He is so cute and I want to be his best friend.

What do I do with this little bird?

A bird fell out of its nest in our back yard and my little sister wanted to save it… so here we are. I did this myself when I was her age (8-years-old), but I seem to have forgotten what to feed it and how to keep it safe and healthy. Right now it’s in a little shoe box, and is an awfully trusting little thing (it came to me when I went to get it in the back yard – no obnoxious chirping or chasing around involved)

long story short – I just need some advice on the best thing to do for it. What/how do I feed and water it? How do I help it to fly? (so we can let it go when it is strong enough) and is there anything else I should know?

Here is a picture of it: http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa318/Avelais/LittleBird.jpg?t=1210728630

I don’t know what type it is. Thanks!

does anyone know how to discourage a peregrine falcon from the backyard? We feed squirrels and birds daily.?

sighted two days in a row above our bird feeder. Yesterday he killed and ate a little bird right there on our fence. Have been told should feel honored to have actually seen that, but would like to discourage it
