I feed my bird everything?

Ok so I own a sulphur crested cockatoo and whenever the rest of my family or I sit down to eat he starts squawking so I give him people food to eat. Along with his seed I give him the stuff that I know he’s allowed to eat like corn, capsicum, celery, all that kinda stuff but I also feed him other stuff like crackers, chocolate (he loves chocolate) sausage roll pastry lol. He’s had cheerios, a little bit of pork and noodles. Is it bad for him to have this kind of stuff? I know there not allowed to have potato as it does something to there insides so I don’t give him that but is the rest ok? He doesnt get it all the time just sometimes. Help appreciated. Picture enclosed is of my bird lol just cuz I felt like putting it there.

Thanks, I know he shouldnt have chocolate with the caffeine and such but when he’s a pain and won’t get back in the cage that’s what I lure him with lol
Thanks marge but I know for a fact that potato is dangerous to a bird, it stuffs up there insides and when I’ve given him chocolate he doesnt vomit it up or get diarhhea (or however you spell it) but thanks
Treetopteresa your birds are cute, I think I might reconsider giving him chocolate now, I love the first one, I’ve seen one like that on Ellen and how it’s got agreat vocabulary and I love the second one cuz it’s the one off Paulie (love that movie) and seriously, cheese? lol that’s so weird tho
Unicorn I would take him to the vet except for the fact that the reason we got him is because someone previously owned him and they must have let him go, he was in our tree overnight and came down and we put him in a cage, we don’t have a wildlife licence for him which is required with cockatoos so chances are if I take him to the vet he will either be taken away or I’ll have to apply for a licence and I don’t know how much they are

How many months does it take until a baby cockateil starts eating on its own?

My baby cockateil is 6 months old and i still have to hand feed him. He eats a little bit of seeds, but he still cries for the bird formula. Is this normal?

what does it mean when my cockateil eggs go a darker color?

hey my female cockateil has laid eggs before and they never hatched. There is a male in the cage and she has laid eggs about 20 days ago. The male and female bird have been siting on them togetehr and seperatley, which they didn’t do previoustly when the female laid eggs. I looked into teh nesting box today and the eggs have turnt like a little bit darker (blackish inside) to when they were first laid, as when they were first laid they were white. And also the preivious eggs that were laid never turned this dark colour. If yuou have any ideas as to whatb is happening to the eggs let me no. Your help is much appriated :)

What types of fruits and veggies can you feed lovebirds?

We have two lovebirds and they layed five eggs, four hatched. The babies are five weeks old now and im wondering what foods to feed all of the birds. The parents are still feeding the babies (we take them out once a day to play with and we used to give them one feeding a day especialy the youngest who didnt get much food from the parents, he is doing just fine right now and is as curious as ever.) The parents, other than seed, will eat nothing but apple and treat sticks and millet spray of coures but i was wondering what to give the babies soon so that they will not be scared of any foods. they have eaten a little bit of banana before and millet spray and sometimes sit in the food dish with the daddy but when there on there own what foods can we feed them? I have done sooo much research on them and found so many diferent foods but i want to know some more. also can you realy feed them dry cheerios? The parents sure seem to like them i just want to make sure its all right for them.

Feeding Parakeets! What to feed, and how often?

What kind of “people food” (fruits and vegetables) can I feed my parakeet? Is advacado ok? Can my bird live off vegetables and fruits alone? Should I leave its little bowl of grains in its cage all the time or just for a little bit? Any other good tips for a new parakeet owner? Please help!! Thank you!

What to do with a wild baby bird?

A few hours ago, I heard birds chirping really loud, i went outside to see what was up and saw 2 birds looking directly at a bush, i looked at the bush and was suprised to a baby bird, based on what I saw I assumed the bird fell out of its nest ( the nest was on the roof of my house, i know because ocasionally i’d see those 2 birds fly up there ) and the 2 birds are trying to figure how to get the baby back up there, i felt real bad for the bird but went back inside, about 2 hours later i noticed there wasnt any more chirping outside, so i went outside and couldn’t find those 2 birds anywhere but I did find the baby bird still in the bush, i didnt know wat to do, if i left it inside the bush it was likely to be cat food. I thought for a while about what to do… I got a shoe box with 2 holes in it, some hamster bedding, and then put the hamster bedding inside the box, i then went to the sink got a really really small glass bowl ( small enough so the bird could drink out of it ) and filled it with water, I picked up the bird and put it in the shoe box, brought the box inside my house and now here i am, I tryd to spoon feed it water ( well i guess i mean spoon drink it ) but it wouldn’t take it, it just sits there all scared and shakey, if i put my hand over the box it’ll pull its head back into its body and its wings will come towards my hand just a little bit. I have no clue what to do, I’m probably gonna take it to an animal shelter. What to do??
I just read recently on a website that a baby bird outside of its nest is considered a fledgling, falling out of its nest on purpose to keep away from predators like hawks or climbing cats and being fed by their parents who will soon come back and keep feeding it for a few weeks until it is able to hunt for food its self and be on its own… i feel ive done the wrong thing. I also read that once human hands have touched it, the parents will never accept it again. Is any of this misleading information? Should I tomorrow take it to a shelter, or bring it back to the bush where it could still be cat food?
to first poster: I can’t put it back in its nest, its to far up on my house and I can’t get a ladder to climb.
