How long does it take for a mourning dove egg too hatch?

I want to find out. And should I put in some water and food in the nesting box so that the bird doesn’t have too get out so he or she can sit on the egg for a while? And how long do chicken eggs take too hatch? My chickens keep on having sex andlaying eggs yet they never hatch.

Baby Mourning Doves…mommy took off..HELP?

I live in Boston. I have a mourning dove 3 weeks ago build a nest on my airconditioner. The male and female were a great mom and dad. They took turns sitting on and feeding the baby birds for the past week. I thought there were 3 in there, but when I looked today..only two. The mommy dove was on them all day until about 2 this afternoon when I saw her fly off. She is still not back. The 2 baby birds are up there snuggled together and are breathing. Will the mommy come back? I had a birdfeeder on my deck and she was eating the seed today. I am concerned about the babies, but don’t want to touch them in case she comes back. I don’t know why they would take off all of a sudden. There are not any predators as they are on a 3rd story AC and sheltered by the roof overhang.

Any suggestions or help would be great!

Will the Mourning Dove mother leave?

About a week ago, a mourning dove nested in our flower box right outside out window. I was babysitting my friends’ son, who is about four years old. One night, I come into yt room and I see him poking at the mother mourning dove through the screen, and when I came in, the mother mourning dove had flown off! It’s been about thirty minutes, and I’m wondering if she is going to come back.. The two eggs had hatched, and the birds have some feathers, but not enough for them to survive. They are about 5 inches long. I haven’t touched them, but still I’m worried if the mom will come back because of what threat the child posed on them.

A baby Mourning Dove Help!!?

So I found a baby mourning dove that is about 3-5Wks of age. Some children where messing with it and i saved it. Good thing it was not severely hurt, just maybe minor bruises but all is fine^^ Uhm..i wasn’t sure where the baby bird came from, I did search for its nest but did not find it so i took it home with me. i bought some Exact baby bird food and a small syringe to feed it, and placed it in a box covered to warm it up, and calm it down from the shock.
One thing i need to understand is how much of the Exact baby bird food do i need to feed it and every how many hours???

heres a pick on how it looks exactly like!!

Extremely important question about mourning doves.. please help??

Okay, so my problem is I have a baby mourning dove living on my railing downstairs, and I don’t have a problem with this, it’s just that he only ended up there this morning, and the mum has been here twice today to feed it, and it’s great, but my concern is that, we have a lot of stray cats in the neighbourhood, and I know come night fall he will be a goner. Is there anyway I can safely move him to my second floor balcony, where he will be safe, without upsetting his mum, or her not being able to find him, and of course me not getting hurt. Please help I don’t know much about birds but I do know I love mourning doves.
He is right on my railing I have gone in and out of my front door a dozen times today and he hasn’t flown away I think he is too young to fly, and I know at least enough that I can’t let me smell get on him, but I really don’t want to see him die :( There must be some way, especially being that I’ve been less than a foot from him quite a few times and been able to go out my front door with the mum there and she’s not done a thing to me, and she keeps coming back, should I wear gloves, or can I get him to walk into a box or something.
Also, as far as numbers go and getting people to help I am in Ontario, Canada, if anyone knows of a good service for that please tell me.
SO COOL!!! okay so I was going to move him, and I went downstairs and I was waiting because the mum was there and then I see the baby try and move his wings and he couldn’t fly, and I stood there for 10 minutes watching him try and then all of a sudden he just managed to raise up off the railing, he flew to my neighbour’s tree before stopping, it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Thanks for all your help guys.

What can I feed a morning dove chick?

I just found a mourning dove chick on the middle of the road. Because it followed me and I could not find a nest or parent I took it home. I have it sitting in an old bird nest in a cage and it seems to be ok for now, but what do I feed it?
