I purchased a tube feeder for the goldfinches and a tray feeder for the finches and sparrows, but I feel like I’m throwing nature out of whack by skewing the odds and providing a regular source of good seed. Their behavior isn’t as natural as when they forage on their own and I worry about the spread of disease.

I have a natural repoire with animals, certain kinds in particular.. I feel I was born this way and those who know me have noticed and think the same…. It is especially strong with cats, dogs and wild birds… It’s wierd, like I can make them trust me instantly… I think it is the strongest with wild birds, they are utterly fascinating to me and I have been able to walk right up to a wild chickadee and coax it to perch on my hand, no food, out in the middle of the bush I just walked up and put out my hand, the bird got on and let me stroke its feathers and hold him up to my face to look in his eye before he fluttered off. This kind of thing happens alot to me, and I never feed the birds, but they let me walk right up to them and sometimes touch them and they never act scared, its like they ignore me because they know im not a threat…. Does anyone else have a gift with animals like that?? Do you think people are born that way or is it just personality??

I’m thinking maybe feeding the homeless or something of that nature. Having no-one to share Xmas with I’d like to kill two birds with one stone by doing a bit of good for my fellow man and therefore not spending Xmas entirely alone.

I live in the piney woods of North East Texas. As a practicing Wicca, I enjoy and respect nature. Since it has been so dry this year, I am trying to help feed the wild birds. I have put out sunflower seeds, wild bird feed, and thistle seeds. I will also make some suet to put out when it gets colder. I was just wondering if anyone els had any suggestions for bird feed. I also make sure they have plenty of fresh water. Can anyone help me?

there are mounds of other evidence pointing against a loving christian god.
animals by the way never ate the fruit of knowledge of good and evil so they are supposed to be sinless. but why so much cruelty?
i cant imagine an aligator eating grapes or grass. carnivores eat meat. most of them harrass their prey.i think that leaves god out of the equation in life.
