Help Please! unsure what to do???

Bought my new baby cockateel from pet store,it turened out she wasnt even weened so we payed for specalist help, she spent 4 weeks going from being hand fead and sleeping on hot water bottle, to feeding herself and sleeping on her perch.
and after 4 long weeks she was well enough to come home :)
we own a adult cockatil as well and at first things werent so bad, except on the first night when the birds were being put in the dinning room where its more quiet at there bed time “Both birds” went into “panick mode” flapping around there cages just because the new bird was brought out first? since then we move both birds into the dinningroom at the same time,
my question is how can i bond with my new bird as she seems to becoming more paniky “rather than carm”? she will eat from my hand so shes not scared ov me,but my adult teel starts scwaking and she joins him in panick mode, how can i carm her???
both birds r in there own cages n it seems like our adult teel is panakin as if something is going to happen to our baby teel rather than case of him not excepting her? our adult trusts us 100% so why does he act like this? could it be because our baby teel makes some very strange sounds? she spent 4 weeks homed up with 1 macawl, african grey,2 parakies and a cockatile not sure which she mimics excepet its not the cockatile lol
she even makes screaching noise which sounds like “chimpanzie showing its dominance”???

very angry! my new baby cockatile should never have been sold!!!?

i posted in another thred “scared to let my baby teil fly” well turns out i had good need to worrie,i became so worried about my baby birds condition, i rang a expert who came to my home to check “Dusty” and he said that “he” as store sold him was in fact a “she” and that she was approx 8 weeks old NOT “12 weeks plus” as sold, he said she was suffering from server malnutrition and her lack of head feathers looked like the result of other birds “ripping them out of her head” :(
she was in such a bad way that she has had to be taken in to recive specalist care and is being feed from a spoon every 2 hours,a deiet used for new born chicks, i only had dusty 2 days and i knew from day one something wasnt right, so why do stores employ ppl to look after animals with out first making them take “what i think” should be compulsry training course?
i was told had i not contacted for help Dusty would have been lucky to make it through the weekend, how do workers in these stores sleep at night?

baby parakeet questions.?

We had an unexpected hatching of one baby Friday night. It has been growing steadily and the mother has done very well at tending to it. The second egg just hatched a couple of hours ago and mom is tending to it well but the bigger baby is often to her side now while she’s lays on the new baby. The older baby is quiet but moving ( making me think he’s still getting fed?) Is this normal? (please be nice I was hesitant to ask since some responses have been rather nasty. The birds were a present to my daughter. The were bought from a pet store reffered to me by a friend that advertises they “specialize” in birds. we were advised to buy two for companionship, and were advised that male/female pairs are the most compatable. My first comment was that we weren’t interested in breeding and I was told that if we did not provide them with a nesting box they would not fertilize them and to throw the eggs away when they looked like they lost interest. They hatched instead!)
Thank you for all the answers! We were not intending to breed them so imagine the shock we got when a baby bird was noticed on the bottom of our cage, no box and no nest!!
LOL, yes I am am RN, just a labor and delivery nurse that tends to human babies. Bird babies seem far more complicated to me!!

when to handle the new baby?

I know every one says that to have the best, friendliest birds they need to be hand fed, starting about 3 weeks old. I was wondering, if I didn’t want the responsibility of having to feed 3-4 times a day but still want a nice, friendly bird, can I leave the feeding to the parents and just give the baby lots of love and attention? At what age is it alright to start getting the baby used to us? I have more questions but will save some for later. Thanks for your help.

Baby cockatiels parents are in the way?

as scared as i am to hand feed the babies there is another problem. the parents have been feeding the baby birds before i can even get to them so i cant hand feed the babies. So what do i do? i really want these new baby birds to grow up well and be nice and tame. unlike my cockatiels now who bite u even if u try to get close ( even out of the cage )
the olders were mean even before she had babies and sometimes it seems the babies are lookin like they want to bite me too.
