where to sell birds?

I have a princess of wales parrot and a budgie but I can’t take care of them any more. Only feed them and cover up the cage at night. Where can I sell my pets? Also want to make sure that I’m selling my parrots to a better place. (I’d rather avoid selling them on the internet cause if I sold it to some dude in Texas or a place far away, that’s not gonna work for the birdies cause they go crazy on car rides) Does $180 for a parrot and a free budgie sound like a good price? Can’t go any lower than $180. So where can I sell the little guys?
BIG emphasis on not selling over the internet. I never trust the internet when it comes to purchasing or selling.

Can I bring baby pigeons in for the night? Read Desc.?

Question: Baby pigeons were ruinited with their mother on ground. However, they’re alone on the ground at night. Can we possible bring it in just for the night to keep it from harms way, you know, protect them from any possible predators of the night? Or leave them there?
Whole Story:
Alright, so here’s how it goes. First we got my story. Alright so my brother found two baby pigeons outside on our yard…well not necesarily our yard but a grass area near out car drivethru…can’t really explain it guess you can call it part of our yard. So we found them there and I thought that they were orhpaned or something cuz the nest seems to have fallen down too. So after hours I checked and thought that they really were orphans, so brought em in. We didn’t feed them or give them water cuz it was already night. So they stayed for the night…The next day, which was today starting from the morning, I attempted to feed it and give them water by reading all these responses from what people wrote..It turned out fail, and I was on a fail streak all the way till noon. They already kept on crying for food. I had no idea how to do it still..all the things I read were complicated, mom was being a baser, saying “Err, Im not going to buy food for just those little birdies” So I was on the verge of giving up. That’s when I thought alright that’s it rehabilitation center is the best option….But then my mom was still being a baser saying “err, Im not gonna take them to some center place” I know. what a baser. I almost gave up, as she decided to just leave them out there to “die” basically, though she disguised it by saying “Just leave them out there. Wait their mom just might pick them up…Just let them lay there and ‘find the light’. You know how many pigeons are like this? This makes no difference” I was really depressed. But no, this guy won’t give up, especially when it comes to birds, no matter what. So I called Humane Society of Broward, who directed me to Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Ft.Lauderdale. That’s where I reported my story, and told them that they were pretty much orphans, and that if they could bring someone here to rescue them since of course my mom wouldn’t take action. He said that someone will call if he finds someone to do it. So then I was just praying and waiting for them to call…That’s when suddenly I saw my mom bring in the shoebox where we kept them with them inside and said “there was a pigeon close nearby but I scared it..I think it’s their mother” Shocked, I took the initiative conclusion that it must’ve been a predator. But just in case I decided to leave it out there and see what happened….That’s when I saw a pigeon nearby…asked my mom if that was the same pigeon…Said yes. So we waited near the door, looking to see if the pigeon would approach them. I knew that that couldn’t their mother….I was wrong. After what seemed like 30 minutes, the pigeon swooped nearby. I was ready to take action in case it may be an enemy. That’s when I saw the two little birdies jumping with ecstasy, so much that they were actually able to get out of the box themselves. I felt relieved and rejoiced as well, and surprisingly so did my mom. Yah, turns out she cared about them too. Watching them, together, ruinited, and watching their mother feed them, I felt something really meaningful, something deeper than just regular pigeons in a part of nature. It made me feel warm inside…So there they were sleeping, full. That’s when I got a call. It turned out to be someone from the Center. Told them everything, and told me that that was “awesome, that it was natural, and that I should just keep eye from time to time”. So everything is now great. However, me and my mom were wondering, if we could just bring them inside our house for the night, to protect them from any possible predators of the night, though they’re pretty camoflauged at night. Please answer as soon as possible…Thanks for reading this btw xD
Yoo. Thanks Clovicat for answering, and uh yah, I left them alone. Right now though, they’re near out front dear, and about two-three times a day their mom would drop by and feed them. Right now it seems like they want to fly. Hopefully I wont be in school when that happens -.-. Anyways, thanks again!
Oh yah, turns out, they’re not baby pigeons, they’re baby mourning doves =).

Parrotlet Breeding Questions?

I have a female and a male parrotlet, they are in the same cage. They have been “mating” for a while now and i put a nest box in the cage. She stayed in the box all night but theres no eggs. She keeps going in and out of the box and is very aggressive when i even go near her cage. Im positive shes pregnant(whatever you call it for birds) But shes not laying eggs! and shes been all crazy like this for almost a month. When will she lay eggs?

Also, some days she doesn’t even go in the box and other days shes in a lot.

Where do northeastern birds sleep during cold winter nights?

I’m concerned about the local birds that feed in my yard all winter long, such as cardinals, sparrows, bluejays, etc. During the day, they chirp and gather in the hedges of my yard, but in sub-zero temperatures they would freeze during the night just remaining in the hedges. I want to know where they sleep???

Cockatiel Pair: Need Help With A Decision?

Recently, my pair of cockatiels just laid two eggs, and we are expecting another one tonight (11/06/08), since every other night Grey Grey has laid her eggs, and she has verly large and smelly droppings, and a egg shaped vent. And she has been doing very well with the eggs! Along with her mate and the father of the chicks, Diablo.

But the problem is, Diablo is over-protective. It is a good trait in parents, I understand that, but this is goes way too far. Whenever Grey Grey leaves to drink or eat, or say hello to us, Diablo takes over the sitting. Which is good, but, Diablo won’t let Grey Grey into the nest box! He stampedes out of the nest box and attacks her by biting her in various places, trying to attack her, and trying to attack us to get to her when we are holding Grey Grey. And he keeps trying to mate with her, so we separate them at that time. Grey Grey likes to be picked up, and comes to us, so we don’t really interfere with the eggs. But still, he won’t let Grey Grey in at all, to lay or incubate the eggs.

We have a spare cage for any of our birds (cockatiels/parakeets), if a problem occurs, and Diablo is currently staying in there while Grey Grey is incubating and doing the motherly roll. And Diablo gets a little mad at first, but he is settled down and Grey Grey is sitting in the cage as we speak.

My question is, should we keep Diablo separated from her permanently? Grey Grey is doing a fine job of taking care of the eggs, but I was wondering. And I was reading, and I read that cockatiel eggs can stay viable for seven days, and the maximum time she is gone is about five minutes, and it is room temperature around their cage. But still, my question stands, should we separate Diablo from the mother and eggs? If so, can Grey Grey fully take care of the eggs on her own? We are pulling the chicks at two weeks of age, if that matters.

FIRST EGG- Laid Monday, November Third, 2008 at night. Due to hatch in sixteen to nineteen days.

SECOND EGG- Laid Wednesday, November Fifth, 2008 at night. Due to hatch is seventeen to twenty days.

We are expecting a third egg, and we are goig to candle them in about a week to see if we have fertile eggs.

Hello, I would just like to clarify, he is attacking her! She is afraid to even go into the cage! But I was wondering, would she be capable if she was left to do her job alone? And should we separate them? I am not experienced with this, as this was my first time and accident, but I have done my research. I was wondering (from experienced breeders!) if this would be okay?
