Help! What should I do? I rescued a baby bird!?

Its a bird that I see alot of in CT I don’t know what its called anyway, my horses were kicking the shelter boxes and a nest fell out the parents took both of the other siblings and never came back for this one. I put it in a bucket with some grass and paper towels I read along time ago to soak dry cat food and feed them it. He wont eat the food how should I give it water and how often what should you put in their environment? help!

I have just found a baby bird on the side of a path-?

I did initially take it home to give it a tiny bit of water as it is a VERY hot day- anyway i took it back for about an hour to see if the mother would come back but when i returned the bird was freezing (it has no feathers but they do look like they are starting to come out). Anyway i have taken it back home and put it in a box with paper towels/grass and some old nest that we found at the bottom of our garden- i have been feeding it every 20 mins since with mushed up dog food and the occasional bit of water- the bird definately seems to have perked up and has begun moving it head more and twitching and the last time i fed it it even made some noises- is there anything else i can do to make sure the bird has the best chances? i have read up on it but i just want to know if there is any more info? thanks x
- will it become dependent on me as its mother as i will be leaving home in a month – is this too soon?

My Lovebirds are laying eggs, what should I do?

Ok, so I have a pair of lovebirds, about 10 months old. They have started mating, and since then the female has laid one egg a day for the last 5 days….the only problem is I don’t have a nest box (I don’t plan on breeding, but if they happen to have babies, then I don’t mind either) I put a bowl in there and some cloth and paper towels, but she doesn’t lay the eggs in it. She lays the eggs on the bottom of the cage, and does not sit on them…

Should I take the eggs out, or should I leave them in there? How long should I leave them in if I do?

Will the female sit on her eggs if I have a nest box? Is she too young to know what to do?

I am totally new to the whole breeding part of bird care!
I am about 90% sure I have a male and female. The male is smaller, and nicer. The female is a MEAN bird…and bites like crazy, and if fat and weighs more…(and lays eggs).

They have been doing the dance, and seem like a mated pair.

My lovebirds just started to build a nest in hanging fleece hut.?

Is nest building normal? or does it always mean eggs are soon to follow? I have 2 lovebirds, not sure of sex- one definitely female who is the nest builder. I have no desire to breed these birds-what are your suggestions? Let them lay eggs, continue with building the nest and if eggs come – remove them? or, Disrupt behavior, take down fleece hut and separate birds? Do female birds always build nests, even without a male partner? The female is constantly in the fleece hut and the other one is hanging outside the hut, occasionally making a visit. What do these behaviors indicate? The only reason I can see why the behavior changed with the birds is I recently put palm shredder pieces into the cage- no nesting box- no paper towels, nothing different other than the shredders. Would this trigger mating behavior? Or coincidental? It is winter here in Philly, do they breed all year round- I thought spring was the season. Thanks for your help.
