How to get my new arakeets get used to me?

I bought two female parakeets several months ago. they were very nerveous in the pet shop and the lady told me they would calm down once they’re in their new home. But he damn things just start flying all over the place when they see me. It’s a nightmare to change the cage, feed them water, etc. Feathers fly everywhere and they make a mess. What’s wrong?

I’ve tried the quiet gentle approach and also the casual ” I’m here get used to me already” approach. Nothing seems to work. They hate me. My previous bird, a loverbird I had to regretfully trade in for quieter birds, was loving, I would take him out of the cage and we’d play. I would give him a bath in the bathroom sink and he would pay with my hair. And these new stupid birds are retarded! I hate them just as much as they hate me.

Help…

what do you feed wild pigeons? I have taken in a pigeon and have heard conflicting stories about sunflowrseeds

are black sunflower seeds bad for them? Someone also said gravel was bad even though it is recommended that you give it to birds. I am feeding her seed from the pet shop.
I have had her for months, but I was giving her sunflower seeds and gravel along with her seed and someone said it was bad for their liver.

I found a baby robin. It has feathers but is still too young to fly.?

Other birds were attacking it and the mama was trying to protect it. Lots of fighting going on. The bird couldnt survive on the ground where it was and if the nest was near it was very high up in a tree. No low branches at all. I took it home (I know you arent supposed to have wild birds but I couldnt just let it die). It is in a cage and I am feeding it dry cat food that I put in blender with water. My son worked ina pet shop and was given a baby crow. That was the food of choice. It thrieved on it but couldnt be released since it though my son was its mom and wouldnt fly away. We called wild life and they took it. How long before a robin can fly. It has a short tail, maybe an inch long. It is a bit smaller than a baby chicken. Fairly many feathers although not complete.

I have a few pigeon questions?

so, i found this young pigeon on my doorstep, no way i can find it’s nest cuz chinatown’s crowded with millions of birds and hundreds of bird nest so i bought it home. then i went to the pet shop to get canary seed(cuz the pigeon feed is real expensive and it’s a big pack, the nutrients are only like 2 persent less or more)
so i got it settled into a 2 squared feet cardboard box. with newspapers over a piece of warm cloth for bedding.
So now i have a few questions:
1.my pigeon is attracted to bread more than bird seed? why? and how am i suppose to fix that? cuz bread is not good for them in the long run.
2.my pidgeon is flicking the seeds like real hard, SO THEY’RE FLYING ALL OVER THE PLACE.
3.I know that a cloth underneath newspaper ain’t that warm and comfy, but i’m afraid that the bird poop will stain the piece of cloth if i put it on top, and i want to give it the best i have until it’s back feathers have all grown in(it’s currently pinkish with tufts of soft fur like feathers, other wise it’s full fledged)
thanks

Will same sex love birds try to mate?

i have 2 love birds and i could swear there male and female. The one that i thought was the female seems to accually be a male, or well it takes on the male roll ( sex wise ) and the female the one that i thought was the male is gathering stuff and makeing a nest in the box. My girlfriend and i are worried that they may be the same sex and are just confused. We do have 6 parrotlets but those we know for sure of there sex’s, just we bought our love birds from the Pet shop and they didnt have any classification on what sex they were, the only thing they said was that the “Now” female kept breaking out of her cage to get to the “Now” male’s cage, is that a sign that there both opposite sex?

HELP!!! My “male” bird just laid an egg!?

Ok, so I have a “male” bird and a female, the “male” is about 2 years old, and the female is only a few months old. He looked sooo much like a male, according to the internet and the pet shop we bought him from.

He was acting really weird, puffed up on the bottom of the cage, (which isn’t very big – I don’t have room for a nesting box) so I took him out, and an egg just like… fell out! He only laid one egg and is showing no interest in it.

What should I do? Take it away [It's NOT fertilized]? Is there anything I should do for him? Or… her.

Thank you so much, this is really weird =]
I shoulda made my question more obvious: what do I do?!

Take the eggs away?! Or leave them?
Should I feed her anything special?
