Biology Question related to Evolution?

A protein similar to the mammalian hormone prolactin is found in amphibians and birds. In amphibians, such as newts, it causes the animals to seek water as they do when they lay their eggs. In birds, such as pigeons, it causes them to regurgitate material from the crop to feed their young. Mammals respond to prolactin by producing milk. How does the theory of common descent explain these similarities?

What are the chances a baby pigeon will make it over night? Help fast?

I feel horrible. There were pigeons nesting above my door way and they hadn’t been back in a day or so. I saw a baby pigeon down on in the grass so I figured it was time to tear down the nest. Got a broom to get it down (about 10 ft high). Thankfully I caught it in a box, one of the pigeons didn’t leave the nest.

The nest didn’t survive the fall but the bird did. It doesn’t appear hurt. I put on my gardening gloves and moved it to a safe spot to let it be. I came back and it was just stuck there, shivering. So I got a thermal shirt and put it inside it, introduced its beak to a bowl of water and some soaked up graham crackers and tried to provide it a shelter.

I don’t know what’s next but I feel like crap. Is there anything I can do to ensure it makes it through the night? Tried calling services but its too late at night.

What should I do?
One more thing, I felt its crop and it was full, kind of balloony feeling. Is that a good sign for tonight at least?

Advice on this, please help!?

Been wanting to attract pigeons into building a nest on the balcony of the town house I live in heard one out near the balcony today! went out to look and sure enough there was a male pigeon on the roof! he stood there and looked at me long enough for me to say hello before taking off. I put out some bird seed and hope he’ll come back, (maybe with a mate) there’s a section of the roof that sort of drops down, there’s also a metal panel that underneath which I’m guessing is for draining rain off the roof. Doubt it’s the best place to build a nest

Think I should put one of the wine crates out on the balcony and try to get them to use that?

It seems he’s selected that part of the roof as a nesting spot since this the 2nd or 3rd time I’ve heard a pigeon on that spot.

The crates were used to ship/hold wine and are unstained wood. The ends of the box are 6 1/2 inches tall and the sides are 19 1/2 iches long. No slits on the sides or ends, it’s all solid wood.

Would like advice!

Would like adivce on this, please help!?
